Deepstriking occurs at the end of the movement phase, so no more movement can occur. A unit that comes in from deepstrike can't advance.

That's my instinct also, but I'm sure I've seen comments somewhere recently saying it was an option.

Probably a leftover idea from previous editions, where advancing was running and you did it in the shooting phase, so you could deep strike in and then run, which was useful for stuff like assault terminators.
