Thinking about AM using genestealer hybrids

I am getting back into the game and I have been checking out the genestealer hybrids. I think with a little conversion work they could be turned into an AM army. Head swaps would go a long way. I'm not sure how I would handle the kneeling troops for heavy weapons teams though. It looks like some of them could be modeled with a heavy weapon standing and maybe add another trooper to a large base?

Any suggestions?

You could use blue stuff and clone heads weapons torsos you name it, for your own purposes (as it would be illegal to sell them on). Blue stuff makes straightforward molds to fit your narrative.

 

I've got a box of scions, AM command box and genestealer cult upgrade kit to add to my new undercover Guard army. I plan to blue stuff clone the tempestuous scions berry and then and sculpt them over the 'ridged bumps' on all the GS upgrade kit heads, I'll do this for all my AM troops as I wish to use the same units as an ally to my original SM successor army. the way I see it these troops could be hidden in plane site or my SM army knows about the GC insurrection and are planning to use these traitorous troops as meat shields. 

 

I also plan to clone the ogryn gasmask heads on each of my ogryn units as it gives them a GC visual narrative but again making it fit into the imperial aesthetic too.

Cheers fella, I'll post them up here B&C, it's a toss up between the GS or my Grot Army First. As for your kneeling models I agree that they could be the loader/primary user on your Heavy Weapons Team however they could easily be crouching with a plasma gun or lasgun. I'm considering the industrial sector bases from GW mixed with a dash of Mars-esque sands.

 

I'm starting small combat patrol force and following Warhammer Will's Tale of gamers format starting with a 400, 600, 750 (and so on) escalation. I have a sizeable force unassembled and I don't want to bite more than I can chew so this monthly escalation will ease me in. I've seen some interesting mechanicus genestealer cult infiltrators so I may if i'm brave enough use blue stuff to clone few heads to create that narrative and thankfully i only have to buy one box of Rangers (all for my own purposes of course).
