Hello brothers Marshal vann Trapp here bringing you the wip thread for my return to 40k, starting with my Imperial Fists Expansion V vow:

 

 

Still early WIP right now but i have the general shading/highlighting technique I use to give my black depth done so now its just the details

 

I still have no idea how to handle the ancients banner but I'll figure that out later, as you may be able to tell I'm trying for an "African-American in space" vibe for the helmetless lieutenant cause I think every single model I have with a bare head is white so I wanted to do something different

 

C&C are welcome and please help me figure out how to do the banner!

Finished my first vow for the Imperial Fists Expansion V

 

Primaris Captain in Gravis Armor

Had a lot of fun painting this guy but i think he has a bit too many winged skulls haha

 

Primaris Inceptors

Calling these done til i find a red fine tip paint pen to do their crosses

 

Primaris Lieutenants

After taking this picture i realized i forgot to go over the bear head guys hair with flat black again but it has since been fixed

 

Primaris Ancient

I might add a white cross inside the circle if i can find a fine tip white paint pen but its done to tabletop quality for me

Next up is my second vow for the Imperial Fists Expansion V, this time the troops from the DI box along with some other infantry to round out my other squads

 

So far I just did the first 2 layers of drybrushing, still have to give them all a good black wash to bring it all together

It has been some time but i've finally finished the primaris from DI as well as my special and heavy weapons for my crusader squads

 

 

my Imperial Fists Expansion V vow #2:

just need to finish putting their templar crosses on

 

Power Weapons:

used the new GW technical paints for gems to make their power weapons shimmer red, looks good to me

 

Powerfists:

im loving the new templar fists, the others are just there to be there heh

 

Special Weapons:

think i might do another layer or 2 of agrax earthshade to give the weapons more "burn"

 

Hellblasters:

love the way these guys came out!

 

Intercessor Squad 1:

just a bunch of bolter marines

 

Intercessor Squad 2:

again just bolters

Thank you sir, I've been trying to refine the black recipe I use to get a more convincing not flat black that isn't too splotchy

 

Now that I have some special and heavy troopers done I can take some group photos to get everyone in there
