Regarding the Army and numbers

So I'm sketching out a Crusade campaign (fluff only) for an alt-heresy, roughly on par with Ullanor/the Macharius Crusade. Thing is, what number of Army troops counts as exceptional?

From what info I can find the ullanor crusade had around 8 million men of the imperial army. Hope that helps

That seems like surprisingly few. Then again,mUllanor seems to be over and done in a matter of months.

To the dismay of many, youll often find that the Imperial Army numbers, when present, for Crusade/Heresy Era battles/events are usually surprisingly small when one would expect a conflict happening over the course of a few decades and a few planetary systems only mentions 10 million or fewer mortal soldiers vs the 50+million mark one would have otherwise expected.
