Taliesin
Thread for people to post what they thought of the book without spoiling the plot. Anyone finished it yet? Allart01
Copy-paste from the other discussion: As for the Book in general, I really enjoyed it. It takes a while to really take fly (the first hundred pages or so are kinda bolter porny...), but when it does, it becomes quite intense. Sanguinius is finally represented as he deserves. The Lion is cool as always. Guilliman is tested and shows some new, interesting sides of himelf. There are visions of possible futures and they are beautiful, tragic, moving and treacherous at the same time.Every Primarch has to make a choice - and Sanguinius makes his, even though the author had the skill to make me hope, for a moment, that things could end differently from the way we know. I recommend it. m0nolith, JH79, Roomsky and 2 others 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340414-ruinstorm-non-spoiler-thread/#findComment-4909613 Share on other sites
b1soul
What do you mean by Sang is finally represented as he deserves? Could you elaborate? Roomsky
About half way through now, it has its ups and downs. I've disliked a lot of Annandale's recent work, but the writing quality here has been promising, and makes the latter of his Beast Arises efforts seem written by someone else. Warp description is good, as usual for Annandale, and when introspection occurs, its usually solid. The first third of the book is an action sequence, though, and it does the work no favors. The second major set piece would have been so much cooler if I hadn't already had to sit through the first. Still, looking forward to seeing where it goes. Allart01
What do you mean by Sang is finally represented as he deserves? Could you elaborate? Until now, I felt like Sanguinius was only said, not shown to be an awesome Primarch. He does some good stuff in Fear to Tread, but I never really felt the presence and tragedy the character was supposed to have. After this book, he finally started shining for me. I'm finally ready to see him at the Siege and care. Off course, all of this is totally subjective!
