I was thinking of running the following list. Let me know what you think. Seems good on paper.

Ultramarines Spearhead Detachment: 1639

102 Chaplain: jump pack, power fist, armor indomitus

55 Apothecary

178 10 Assault Marines: jump packs, 2 plasma pistols, sgt w power sword

98 5 Assault Marines: jump packs, 2 plasma pistols, sgt w power sword

402 3 Centurions: 3 twin lascannons, 3 hurricane bolters

402 3 Centurions: 3 twin lascannons, 3 hurricane bolters

402 3 Centurions: 3 twin lascannons, 3 hurricane bolters

Ultramarines Super-heavy Aux: 360

360 Roboute Guilleman

The centurions are backed by Guilleman and the Apothecary. They unleash 18 lascannon shots and 54 bolter shots per turn, re-rolling to hit and wound. 10 man assault squad splits into combat squads, giving me four units with jump packs dropping on objectives and hopping around grabbing more.

People keep saying that about centurions, but to field normal marines with the equivalent firepower costs 180 points more, they can't move and fire heavy weapons without penalty, and they don't negate cover bonuses. Plus, you would be hard pressed to position 72 marines within 6 inches of Guilleman for re-rolls. Obviously, normal marines come with a lot more wounds, but ai would think the other benefits off set this.

I just want to point out that 10 hellblasters costs 72 points less than the 3 centurions and absolutely melt things into slag while having 20 wounds.

So it might be worth it to swap out one squad for them and either beef up the vanguard vets or pick up an ancient to make shooting at your gunline a risky proposition.

An Ancient and Apothecary would be very useful here. Or 2 Apothecaries to maximise the chances of returning models.

It's like Apothecaries were designed for Centurions really!

A Chapter Banner (Banner of the Emperor Ascendant) would make any killed models a problem for opponents.

All good advice. I could drop 5 assault marines to pick up an ancient or another apothecary. The proposition of firing even more shots when a centurion dies is very enticing. I'm going to try the list out soon, so I will let you know how ot goes.
