Halfpint100
Just looking at this relic and realised that is does not need to go on an infantry HQ. "During deployment, you can set up the bearer and one INFANTRY unit from your own army behind enemy lines" I am thinking.... Outflanking tank commader? With a squad of plasma vets? Feral_80
Could work, but what about a Bullgryn bodyguard with a unit of Bullgryns. Now ain't that thematic as well. Finkmilkana
Well, it also doesn't specify that the infantry unit has to be guard... Outflanking say electro priests or an full black Templar crusader squad is currently legal. What I mean to say is, don't plan an army around its current version. That relict will get an errata of some sort. What it will or won't allow after that is only guesswork. Glute
Based on the BIG FAQ updates. Does this relic grant deployment anywhere in turn 1 (opponent's deployment zone) on the table? Based on what I'm reading this is similar to other Ambush tactics ? If you can't you can still wait till turn 2 and setup in opponent's zone. mertbl
No, they come on as reserves. It's not like strike from the shadows or forward operatives. You can come on in your deployment zone board edge turn 1. duz_
That's how I would interpret it too Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340633-the-dagger-of-tusakh/#findComment-5085664 Share on other sites
mertbl
Here is a situation that came up last night in a game. If your opponent has a stratagem that allows them to shoot a unit coming on from reserves, which unit does he get to shoot at it? Is the bearer of the dagger the "drop pod" and per the latest faq the only one targetable? Or do they arrive together and he can shoot either? Halfpint100
It would be either. But since 1 is a character, you would have to deploy them badly for that character to be targetable Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340633-the-dagger-of-tusakh/#findComment-5086424 Share on other sites
mertbl
Movement phase doesn't offer the character protection rule. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340633-the-dagger-of-tusakh/#findComment-5086453 Share on other sites
Halfpint100
What is the stratagem wording? if it counts as a normal shooting attack, they do get the benefit, since it is a normal shooting attack.
