Hi.  I'm getting back into Chaos after a few years, and am really enjoying the new Codex.

But I've come across a couple of questions.  First, concerning Berzerkers' Blood for the Blood God second attack.  It doesn't say one way or the other, but, if you get the charge, does this second attack come before or after your opponent fights?  I've been doing it before, but now I think I'm probably doing it wrong, and would like to know one way or another.

The other question is, can Demon Princes take artifacts?  It states that having a Chaos Space Marine Warlord allows you to give an artifact to a Chaos Space Marine Character in your army.  Demon Princes do have the Heretic Astartes, Chaos and Character keywords, so does that make them Chaos Space Marine Characters or not?  I can see it either way, and would like some feedback from people who know more than I do.  Thanks.

Yes and yes. :)

The unit of zerkers still counts as charging. Of course, your enemy can interrupt you between attacks if they have a ‘fight first’ ability (such as quicksilver swiftness) or spend the CP to cut in.

And, it is common practice to take a DP with the intoxicating elixir- for example. You just have to be sure they have the item to replace - no black mace for them, for example!

The answer to your first question is officialy in the FAQ about Chaos codex (and is exactly what Mekhitar said).

For the second : Daemon prince are only limited in artefact coz they can't have the item you switch for a relic. No blissgiver coz no bolt pistol, no Murder sword coz no power sword. So you must take relics which dont act as a power up version of an existant gear.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.  It's nice to know that I was doing it the right way after all.

The main problem was that I looked at that and thought, "That gives me a hella advantage."   And whenever I interpret something as helping me, I like to get someone who is not me to look at it and tell me if I'm right or wrong.

Thanks again.

Well in stitations like that. I would try to rethink stuff, and look it not from the "my dudes are all untouched and already in melee"/"his dudes are in the open and am letting it rip with 10 combi weapons and he is  hexed" point of view, but the "How often do my dudes actualy see stuff in the open/get in to melee" vs an avarge 8th ed army.

Not that this makes GW FAQs more logical, but it does remove the too good to be true factor most of the time.
