I'm building an all Primaris Iron Hands successor chapter. As I feel that the Tenth Legion's gene-seed would best pair with Mars, and ultimately Cawl since he made the Primaris, I thought I'd shake the dust off of my profile and post the test scheme here for general C&C!

Let me know what you think!

Welcome back ;) I like the scheme but there's a few things I'd consider - changing the colours of various small bits (feet, wrists, elbows etc) seems good until you have to paint them all... many times over  Models aren't that big so people won't notice much either so I'd simplify the scheme a bit. Green works for lenses, but not anywhere else looks weird I'd keep the pipes to the black soft colour. Chest wings etc might be a good way to add some colour and contrast to the scheme, perhaps a silver or white?

So with your notes in mind as well as some pondering during my workday, this is the scheme I think I'm going to use. The red will be the same mephistion red I used for my Admech army with the bleached bone as an accent color. I decided to go with a darker metallic for the 'core' parts of the armor, likely leadbelcher. The red legs and accents should also tie in with Martian lore since Rangers etc. tend to have their legs replaced from the knees down since historically they walk their legs to stubs for their pilgrimmage across the Martian deserts. (Check Admech lore)

I'll also be using the Admech Cog on one shoulder and Iron Hands insignia on the other!

Overall I'm pleased with this layout and I'll be painting a test model this weekend. I'll be sure to post up some WIP stuff!

That looks *really* busy. There's nothing inherently wrong with the color choices or anything, but you've got so many different colors scattered around the mini that I fear it simply won't be that legible yo the eye.

Well I generally take my time painting. I don't like to paint with the looming thought of "models left to complete" hanging over my station like a pall. I'd rather spend 5 times more effort and it look great than 1/10th and it look "ok." They're not commissioned, so no need to rush. Also makes individualizing my marines and other units easier.
