Frater Cornelius
An entertaining thought crossed my mind. How about a Conclave? Tiggy and 2 Primaris Librarians, as they are tougher and choppier than regular Librarians for the same price. You will have enough dudes to stop enemy psychics, you'll have the Tiggy buff, three units that can Smite, one can smite with Empyric Channeling to up his chances to get the D6 MW in, Tiggy can also use the Ld10 UM have to Psychic Scourge and also do a bit of damage with Fury of the Ancients. Meanwhile UM can compensate for the lack of Captains with Scions of Guilliman and Wisdom of the Ancients. It's not like UM lack CP to begin with. If you feel lucky, throw in an Orbital Bombardment, and the three Scout MW Stratagems. Definitely something you wouldn't expect, but not sure if it is viable at all. Definitely cool for a few laughs though, I'd iamgine ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340883-ultramarine-mw-spam/ Share on other sites
Captain Idaho
I certainly think it's workable even if not particularly hard core (on Eldar standards). I'd suggest putting them in a Rhino, or a Razorback. You can deliver them where needed and protect them if the circumstances arise. As such I wouldn't go with the Primaris option. If footslogging though, the beefier-but-cheaper-than-Terminators-Primaris-Marines are definitely the bodyguards you need. Psychic Scourge is pretty good. I rate it. Frater Cornelius
Well, I've given up on making competitive lists for the time being, so Eldar standards do not bother me right now. This is me trying to have fun :P Prot 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340883-ultramarine-mw-spam/#findComment-4920201 Share on other sites
Captain Idaho
I think a conclave could be fun. Potential for 4D3 Mortal Wounds is a real potent fighting force. TrexPushups
I'd say devastators with heavy bolters & missile launchers are excellent mortal wound additions that manage to provide good regular firepower at other times. Scouts with sniper rifles can contribute as well. Any other sources not yet mentioned? Oh don't forget the librarian can spit out 4d3 +1 mortal wounds because we can't forget the fury of the ancients spell. Three deny the witch attempts per turn isn't bad eithe especially if they are close enough to get the plus 1. TrexPushups
Forgot the vindicators strategem. 3d3 more mortal wounds in a 3" radius Circle. And it even gets a nice bonus to triggering if the unit has 10 or more models. I suspect if you are willing to do some otherwise silly things we can really crank it up to 12d3 +1 mortal wounds with scout sniper rifles being extra for one glorious turn that uses 7 command points to trigger the stratagems.
