teufelhundenrogers
When in close combat with celestine can she be targeted since she is a character or do wounds allocates to her in cc go to her Gemini then onto her? I only ask cause this came up in a game I played the other day and since she is deployed as a unit the wounds were being allocated go her bodyguards and not her. Eddie Orlock
When in close combat with celestine can she be targeted since she is a character ...The bar against targeting characters is a shooting phase thing. It has no impact in close combat, or the psychic phase for that matter. ... or do wounds allocates to her in cc go to her Gemini then onto her?Celie and the twins form a unit on the field, the opposition does wounds to the unit that the controller than doles out as he sees fit, keeping in mind that once a model is wounded the wounds will keep hitting it until it drops. It's actually analogous to a genestealer patriarch and familiar as addressed in this FAQ on page two. I only ask cause this came up in a game I played the other day and since she is deployed as a unit the wounds were being allocated go her bodyguards and not her. This is fine, it's what the body guards are there for. Brother_Gneecapper
I never really considered that, since they are deployed and count as a single unit. Are there any other characters which are deployed in a squad scenario? Her Gemini don't have the bodyguard rule, if they did I'd think RAI that you wouldn't be able to just allocate to them but in this scenario I think you could. You cannot target a squad leader with in attack in melee, so I'd consider this to be similar she's just WAY more than a squad leader. You can target any unit in close combat provided it is within 1 inch of the base of the unit which is making the attack. This is from the "Allocate Wounds" section on the Battle primer paraphrased: If the attack is successful, the player commanding the targeted unit is able to allocate wounds to any model in the unit. It does not require that the model being allocated to is a viable target (ie, in range or visible). If the any model in the unit has wounds already they must be allocated to this unit first. So essentially the Gemini you're purchasing extra wounds and attacks for her that can be rezzed. Whoops realized you addressed it in there. Though the Gemini aren't true body guards in that they cannot intercept wounds, but in her case I dont think they'd ever have to so they are actually a little better.
