CCE1981
For my Griffons Tempest, I am looking into true scale-ish rhinos. The current rhinos look small for Marines and almost laughably small for Primaris Marines. Does anyone know of any conversion kits for truescale rhino’s or know someone that can do custom work to make a few? Major_Gilbear
I don't think a kit exists to make a Rhino bigger scale, so your choices are going to be conversion of the existing Rhino or an alternative model/kit to the Rhino. If you fancy going the conversion route, something like this by Machinator might help? Otherwise, you could try finding some papercraft Rhino templates online, and enlarging them to get bigger templates. You would then trace these out onto plasticard before cutting them out and assembling them. Steel Company
I think one of the best 'conversions' I've seen over the years was turning a Land Raider into a Rhino, while using a Bane Blade as the bases for a Land Raider... It's been about 10-ish years since I first saw those on this board, but I did see them here. Grotsmasha
You can turn a LandRaider into a rhino with a little effort and some plasticard. hushrong
I was going to say check Mortarion's Finest as Markus made some nice ones. However, I cannot see the pictures but couldn't hurt to ask him. Cryptix
I was already thinking of this earlier but probably take a land raider, replace Sponsoons with repulsor doors, and replace the assault ramp with plasticard. Paradigm
As weird as it sounds, rhinos are actually to scale with the current tactical sized space marine kits. Assuming it is based on the m113. The interior is problematic as it is much smaller than it would actually be, due to the thickness of the used plastic. 12 people with full rucks could cram in the back of one (though it wouldn't be comfortable), so ten marines seem like it would fit better than we'd expect. That said, that land raider conversion looks great for a quick truescale model. The only other ones I've seen that have used a land raider as a base, tried to salvage way more of the raider. I think this is the way to go for sure. It looks better and ends up retaining most of what makes a rhino a rhino. Unless you just build up the original model. Avicenna
Maybe a 1:35 m113 is the way to go? start with one of those and add on the exhausts, modify the hatches and add some side doors... could get it looking pretty RH1N0 pretty quickly :) Paradigm 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340954-anyone-do-true-scalish-rhinos/#findComment-4926448 Share on other sites
