olcottr
Say I had 3 squads I wanted to all move the same distance. Could I make advance rolls for all three and then move all three the number of extra inches on the lowest die roll? Eddie Orlock
Say I had 3 squads I wanted to all move the same distance. Could I make advance rolls for all three and then move all three the number of extra inches on the lowest die roll? Not officially. Top of the left column on pg 177 instructs us that units are moved one at a time. Under the heading 'Advancing' on the same page we see that while a unit is chosen to move, it may elect to advance. An advancing unit's move must be completed before the next unit is chosen, thus there'd be no way to know the future die rolls while the earlier selections are selected. olcottr 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/340994-move-and-advance-pre-roll/#findComment-4922900 Share on other sites
Ciler
You can still achieve the same effect however. Remember that the advance is added to your base movement stat Roll a dice and add the result to the Move characteristics of all models in the unit for that Movement phase. So do the advance roll for the first unit, and even if you roll (say) a 6 (on top of a move stat of 6), only move the unit 9"... but that there's no requirement to move by your full movement capacity. A model can be moved in any direction, to a distance, in inches, equal to or less than the Move characteristic on its datasheet.
