Kierdale
Who entered Armies On Parade 2017? Judging is this weekend, so I wish you the best of luck. I thought I’d make this thread so people could post images of their entries (and hopefully inspire others for next year). I snapped a couple of quick photos when I dropped off my army at GW Takadanobaba last Monday and will get more next Monday when I pick it up (and have more time). (Yes, I realise one of the Daemonettes is on a little island in the river :D she was subsequently moved to dry land) Additionally I’ll mention an event finishing next Friday (11/10) that members might be interested in. All you need is some miniatures (at least one of which needs to be Chaos, and not even owned by you ;) ) and a camera: Inspirational Friday 2017: Images of Chaos Linky Entrants are welcome to submit straight photos or go to town with effects and filters. robofish7591, deathspectersgt7, Corswain and 7 others 10 Back to top
N1SB
Patient Zero - a lone soldier, the sole survivor of an army destroyed by disease, wanders from base to base warning of the impending epidemic. Little does he know that he IS the primary carrier, for he...like all humans...can see corruption everywhere but within. Remember, Guardsman, until you've been checked for, you're still a disease vector! Forgot to mention I won a category, then a lot of secondary prizes too: Edited November 10, 2017 by Not 1 Step Backwards Honda and Kierdale 2 Back to top
binary
Entered for the fourth time this year, with my howling griffons, having previously won Gold and two silvers. (gold in 2013, silver in 2014 & 2015) Dissapointed that they've moved to pin badges... Got Silver one for "best themed board", but I think the staff were handing them out "fairly" so everyone got something, and then the chaos marine army that got the most votes won the overall gold to go with his "best monster/machine" More shots here http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334480-led-howling-griffons-finished-land-raider-and-3rd-tactical/ Bjorn Firewalker, Carrack, Lephisto and 2 others 5 Back to top
Lephisto
These are awesome Armies on the Parade. I really wanted to enter but the project to do it all seems quite intimidating.
Kierdale
If you pace yourself through the year it’s honestly not all that hard :) I managed to make my display board in a week, from scratch. Using terrain kits might make it even faster. I’m already working on my entry for next year :D Binary mentioned that it seemed the four or so awards were awarded to different people and I’d have to say it seems the same over here. In my local GW and on the others’ FB pages I don’t think I noticed anyone coming away with more than one category. One part of me says “okay, spread the happiness” while another part of me, the ex-military scale modeller part of me, says otherwise. Anyway, the categories can give you something to aim toward: lots of well done monsters and machines and likely you’ll nail that category, for example. With mine being a battle beteeen Slaanesh CSM And Eldar i nabbed Best Theme. Lastly, one inspiring entry I saw on Instagram (GW Newcastle, apparently): I’d love to do something like this with some of my own flyers. Would be quite easy.
