Javelin Speeder Lascannons.

Hey yall, I have 7 Javelin speeder with Cyclone ML, but am looking to put a little variation in the mix by swapping in lascannons.  Problem is... I don't have the lascannons to attach.  So, does anyone know a solution other than the $77 dollar one of ordering a whole new model?   Any idea if predator sponsons work?  If so, where is a good spot to order those bits?   And just to double check, FW doesn't do bits do they?

The sponsors are on a small ring, so predator ones wouldn't fit. I don't think there would be any "easy" way, but using mascarpone from a Stonehaven might be your best bet.

This is glorious.  I can identify "Stormraven" but not whatever mascarpone was supposed to be.

 

How ARE lascannon Javelins?  I was considering some for a White Scars list... feels like I should have some lascannons in my army and Javelins would be a good place to have them, but there are so many situations when two missiles are better than one lascannon.

Not as good as CML buuutttt, I like a bit of diversity, and with that many Javelins I need it.  Running DA Ravenwing protocol and am going for a "No boots on the ground" or, "They all float." approach.

Is the sponson a similar design to other tanks like the deimos predator?

 

If so drill a hole through the lascannon and the missile launcher and use a pin or rod to secure in place. Put a little sensor doodah on top of the pin to make it easy to grip and remove when you want to swap weapons over or represent a weapon destroyed result and a gubbin on the bottom of the sponson mount to locate and secure the pin from waggling around?

I dunno, my four las-Javs blast most things off the board rather well. The reroll's great, even better with strafing run, and all that Lascannoning tends to make up for the fewer shots by going through heavier armour more reliably.

I can confirm that the lascannon sponsons that come with Sicaran tanks fit. I happened to magnetize mine, so when I got my CML Javs in the mail and noticed the same ring mounts I magnetized those too. Unfortunately it means i cant field a Sicaran with las sponsons at the same time as the las-javs, but thats not a huge loss most of the time.

Oddly, I cant see any evidence of your message having been modified by anyone. Going to be bringing this up with the admins since it seems like a software issue.

Good to hear someone happy with them.  I'm looking at adding a squad of three with lascannons and multimeltas to supplement Veteran squads as encircling elements to herd opposing forces closer to the primary punch of my army.

Does ForgeWorld sell out the bits for the sponsons?  Or is there a third party vendor like Chapter House that could fit the bill?

From what I can tell the Deimos Predator uses the same exact sponson and las cannon as the Javelin does. It is easy to magnetized Javelin sponsons too. I have both missile launchers and las cannons magnetized. I hope this isn't to late to help you. Cheers
