Hot damn they're going to be good.

Match today using a few of the released rules, like hive fleet bonuses.

Opponent played Kronos and didn't have much shooting.

But damn i got bodied on the relic mission. Ended turn 5 and i had 2 paladin, voldus on 1w and a razor left.

Relic was held in his backfield by 2 warriors and he had tonnes left.

I got siezed, which did effect the game. But this is the first time I've not wiped his units off the board.

Some standouts. Exocrines with innate reroll 1s to hit... and he only used 1.

I was shut out off the psychic phase... from his warlord trait (any failed psychic test deals d3 mortal wounds). To shadows of the warp countering our +1 cast chapter tactic. To thier new strat that makes you cast on 1 dice.

Voldus went to purge soul. Had to do it on 1 dice. And with my 6cp compared to his easy to reach 12. I couldn't afford to match him with psychic channeling.

Plus multiple zoanthropes for thier new strat ment he had enough denies and a healthy amount of proper smites. Next time he'll up from 3 man squad to 4. For even more smite.

He didn't even use any of the new neurothrope cheap hq choices.

But he will. As they are also synapse creatures, and he'll need more of those cheaply to use multiple fleets together.

Oh and don't charge genestealers. Especially not with Dreadnoughts.

And i though the new Eldar were going to be tough.

Dont know the new nidos, just with 3k i Think you need to Grey and beat more cps. Also the dreadnought are not very usefull imo since they can be wounded by everything and have 3+. I would for sure include storm ravens full dakka, more bodies on the ground and play more defensively with your range advantage. Use the stratagem that help you cast and dispell vs the shadow of the warp, and I also would have brought draigo. But if the game was just chill then, I see no problems with the list.

Just chill. And letting him try out some of the released rules before getting his hand on the dex on sat.

And i've previously tabled him every match we've played. I'm glad it's starting to come together for him!

When the dex is out and all the synergies are realised, I'm sure nids will be potent!

I was surprised to be so shut down in the psychic phase though.

The thought of 3 Kronos Exocrines make me a sad panda!

Tyranids are probably going to heavily expose our weak anti-vehicle ranged options I feel. They can just spam so much cheap chaff in our way to blunt 'Smite' spam being effective, and stuff like Exorcrines just rips our forces apart. Raven and/or Venerables will be essential for sniping the big bugs, you're unlikely to ever get into melee with anything important.

I have a local Tyranid player who will most probably be rocking Kronos as well (I think it may have even been his chosen colour scheme before the rules leaked about it). I'm probably not going to adjust my list too much for Tyranids. They're basically similar to Guard, except instead of tanks they bring huge monsters with guns.
