So faeit has posted a rumour of changes coming to sisters in chapter approved which comes out in December. They are as follows;

"Adepta Sororitas

Strategems

1GP Martydom-use when a character dies and on a 2+ can perform an Act of Faith

1GP Purity of Faith- use when an enemy uses psychic powers within 24" on a 4+ negate it.

Warlord Trait

re-roll failed morale tests if within 6" of Warlord

Relic

Blade to replace power sword. Melee S +2 AP-3 D3"

They seem fairly...average? So most likely true!

Nothing that makes any difference at all, aside from scumming extra faith actions everytime a gemini bites it.

Perhaps there is more to it than that.

Oh good, that's going to make my opponents like me. You killed me Gemini? AoF bring her back! Or more likely, AoF nearby Dominion squad!

Want the sword want the sword want the sword

Why? Non-St Celestine sisters are not exactly geared for combat and at most you will get a Canoness throwing out 4 Str5 -3AP attacks that do D3 wounds.

a Cannoness with a priest nearby basically his all 5 times, and with that sword should wound on 3+ vs Marines, leaving them with a 6+ to dodge. It's not amazing, but it's a decent counter charge unit for the cheap cost if 49+ranged weapon.

The cost will likely be the price of a power sword, given that's how Relics work in the recent codicies. You get one Relic for free (some of which swap for a regular item wargear which you do need to pay for), and you can pay additional Command Points to have an extra one or two Relics.

It says a character, so I'm thinking I can bring back a canoness who was just killed. That is a pretty useful strategem!

May be, maybe not.  We will need the book to see, because the way the rumor is written it seems that the Character itself is the one to use the act of faith.  However that brings into question if that character has already used and act of faith in your active turn. Also with the one can can bring a model of a unit back to the table is a big question, however the option to shoot or fight would be reasonable before they are removed from the table.  Also a question of if that Act of faith can be passed onto another unit.

From the short hand used in the rumor bit I think at this point its impossible to know how the rule is written. Though having the character that was just removed both prox the AoF by being destroyed and then being the one who has to use the AoF after it has been removed from the table seems the least likely to me.

Interesting enough. Would at least give us something to play with. I imagine the sword would be this edition’s rendition of the Blade of Admonition. Will be curious to see if they continue with the retcon that it’s Dominica’s sword rather than just a relic. I mean, no reason for them to go back on it besides I kinda want them to, and I’d be supprised if they even referenced anything older than the e-dex when writing the Sisters rules and fluff for 8E anyway :P

I agree though, seems basic so it just might be true.

I'm totally psyched to get a warlord trait that has an effect the army already had access to through a 15pts elite choice

Even without the dialogus i'm not sure why anyone would take it over the +1 leadership trait - and I don't think anyone takes that one either.
