The rules for the FW Tigershark are available on the community site.

It can only transport drones, which I guess is okay because Drones are where it is at right now. It looks like it costs a TON of points. Do you think it is worth it for a 3+ save with 16 wounds? You still need to pay for all the weaponry so I would guess this thing comes in around 450 points fully loaded?

It doesn't look as good as the Storm Raven imho, but it does seem like it can do a bit of damage.

What does everyone think about it?

or it can be given heavier firepower in the form of armour-bursting swiftstrike railguns or the terrifying new long-barrelled cyclic ion blaster.

...And yet the rules provided are for the bog standard cyclic ion blaster.

Also, shame it specifies that it can only carry tactical drones.   There goes my initial thought of dropping technical drones and heavy gun drones into combat hot zones.

Dropping a fresh load of Shield Drones to protect a character/re-direct smite spam/protect Y'vahra and other Battlesuits still sounds good tho. Just not sure about paying so many points for it. It's not the most durable unit in that point class and the damage output is not particularly overwhelming either imo.

Unless you have a particular need for dropping drones in the backfield the Skyspear missile racks are the stronger option. It is also a very strong Seeker missile platform being pretty durable and BS2+ with up to 6 Seekers.

The weapon costs tend to make it expensive but I do not think it is any more overpriced than 95% of the Tau Index. If the weapon costs are brought into line with equivalent weapons in the various Codex armies then it would  have  a reasonable cost for being a strong mobile shooting unit. It will still be a flyer - which puts it in an awkward category in 8th - but it would then be one of the better ones.
