allfatherstudios
Nice yellow. It's challenging to paint. If you're looking for accent colors to add that little extra. Grey & White and blue would go with your current theme. I recommend Ironhull Grey from P3. It's very nice. Anyways solid work. I'm hoping you add some knight heraldry from bertroian kits such as tiny shields on the shoulders with coats of arms. A few grey knight helmets would also do wonders to make that knightly look that the griffons inspire. I've been thinking about adding white/grey for a while now so this might be a good moment to add it. I've been thinking about looking into shields for a while now, with personal heraldry (sort of like the Grey Knights, but with more claws and beaks and less rigid forms). As for Grey Knight helmets... That's not even such a bad idea. Gotta go bother a GK mate of mine... Thanks! Also woop woop 2nd page. Never thought I'd get that far lol. Pacific81
Very nice job, think you have got the red and yellow done very well. And very neat work. I'm painting up some 1st edition Space Hulk terminators (the old metal/lead ones) in these colours, as it was a great Rogue Trader-era colour scheme. Can I ask what you are doing for the chapter logo (have you got decals?) I usually use 3d printed iconography lately, though. Forgefather
Update time! Finally got around to finishing the limited edition model that came out a while back. Here's the snaps: Bonus picture for the base, which I'm pretty proud of...Edit: the 2nd and 3rd picture were out of focus. Will take new ones when I get the chance. Forgefather
Holy crap it's been forever since I posted anything here! Been at work but haven't really felt like I made anything worth posting or sharing, but I finally nailed a proper colour scheme and technique I'm really, really happy with. Firedrake Cordova
It's a brave person who takes on a quartered colour scheme and a checkerboard! I like the weathering, with the mud on the lower legs integrating them into the base Forgefather and MithrilForge 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341387-quartermastery-or-the-howling-griffons-project/page/2/#findComment-5995084 Share on other sites
Wormwoods
I'm a simple man: I see someone painting checkerboard, I give a like. For real, though, looks great. The muddy weathering in particular. Dr_Ruminahui
He's gorgeous - there is much you've gotten right with this model - the quartering, the impossibly neat checkerboarding, the crisp highlighting on the bolter and then the great job you've done with painting the wear and distressing on the paint job. MithrilForge
Yeah, what they said the checker pattern is pure win !! I see it’s been 4years… worth the wait though cheers, M Firedrake Cordova 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341387-quartermastery-or-the-howling-griffons-project/page/2/#findComment-5995651 Share on other sites
Pearson73
Cracking work on the Terminator! The chequerboard pattern is such a classic, and the green optics complement the rest of the scheme really nicely.
