Greetings

I have finally taken some (poor) pictures of my (poorly) painted toys.

But they please me, which is the main thing!

I love it, especially your old-school Magos! I've got one myself I'm going to plop down on a 50mm base with some other goodies and use as a tech-preist dominus. It'll be a mini-vignette. Hopefully I can pull it off.

I really like the bold look of your knights. That's great.

Cheers guys!

It's just a shame that there aren't any metal guys that I could have used as troops (all of my infantry are mostly, if not completely, metal). Good to have a variety of the older guys - there are still a few of the original miniatures that I'd like to get hold of, but they're hellishly rare, so that's quite unlikely.

I have some other knights, so I'm planning to give them slightly more complex schemes - reverse the red/black one I already have, and then do two quartered guys. The black knight (Lord Sable) is actually supposed to represent the Black Knight on the battlefield - the one that hated t'au.

They look great! And as far as having the satisfaction of having a purely metal army, I understand, I have over 100 vostroyans ;)

Actually, why not acquire some Vostroyan infantry and use them as skitarii. I don't think it would be too much work to convert the guns.

Well, I hadn't thought of a good reason to paint my Vostroyans until you came up with that one. I'll need to check how many I have...

Cheers!

Hey

Nice work!  Is there a specific reason you've kept the paint scheme neutral across multiple factions, or simply for consistency?

+1 for any use of the classic Vostroyans, though.  Always had a soft spot for those models.

When I started playing 40k again, towards the end of 3rd edition, I painted up a kill-team based on a Deathwatch idea, but all of the warriors were from chapters that used black, red and gold because they were divined to be loyal/reliable/something else by whatever inquisitor lord was forming them into a task force. Then I started doing guard, and it seemed obvious to complete the theme to create a crusade force. Eventually, when I later discovered that these were the Mechanicus colours - _after_ having used Mechanicus pads to represent the Deathwatch veterans in my marine force - it seemed as though it was fated, so I just painted everything like that. I put something about the marines and their allied forces in the Liber, but I suppose I should do something regarding the crusade that they are all nominally part of.

It's just a shame that 7th was wound up, because the Castellans list was utterly glorious for them!
