A year or two ago they started re-releasing the earlier HH novels in hardback, which was very pleasant news.

However it seems from their site that they have decided to let the hardbacks go out of print again, as some are not available anymore.

I recently purchased Mechanicum in hardcover for instance, but Fulgrim is no longer available I see.

So yes, they let them go out of print. At best that is a temporary situation, and whether or not is the case only BL customer service might tell you.

At least there's a chance for reprints as the series continues, especially as we get closer to the end.

At least you didn't want to switch your copies of the first 22 books over to the large trade paperbacks when #23 released in that, just for them to never printing #4-22 in said format...

I’ve got caught in this trap too. Buying old HH books when I could while still keeping up with 40/30k releases was for me going to be a slow process but now they have vanished I’m a little miffed. I would say it’s unlikely they will do another run.

I feel you on this. I have 5 left to buy in hardback from the old school ones! Fulgrim, Legion and Eisenstein, all sold out. As far as I know they never even released the two dark angel ones in hardcover at all.

What miffs me the most though is that some of the more recent ones are also impossible to purchase in hard cover anywhere! I have completely missed out on The Master of Mankind for example.

I contacted Black Library but got the standard nothing response. Maybe if more people email to request they do a rerun then they will? Surely its like printing money if there is demand. The mind boggles.

I doubt writing to them will have any effect. HH novel sales must be way down from a year or so back and way way down from 4 or 5 years ago. I speak to lots of people who haven’t been keeping up, these were people who bought everything for years. It’s likely to get a bounce at the end but tbh I think GW will just be glad to get over the finish line and move on without going back to reprint books. Especially now they are on audio and ebook. Heresy aficionados won’t be happy but BL has been stuck in this too long and they know it. The writers and fatigued with it and the readers, for the most part too. I’m still there but we are a small minority now. And even I’m behind on my reading, I’m buying but choosing to read other things first.

Heresy wise I’m more concerned about the FW books and were they are going.

I am probably misreading them then. Maybe transplanting my own heresy fatigue onto the authors, probably wrongly I’m sure. Maybe it would be more appropriate to say GW as a company are suffering from heresy fatigue? It just feels that way, the focus has shifted, other things are moving.

I’m sure we will see a strong focus back on it from the middle of the year onwards.
