It sounds like playing as a successor chapter will be pointlessly handicapping yourself- no access to most of the relics.

The relics are for successors as well. Only the special characters with a fix "Blood Angel" or "Flesh Tearer" faction keyword would be what you're missing out...however that's only a minor issue since you could always just use them as counts-as or treat your successor as differently painted Blood Angels and there would be literally no difference.

They said directly in the livestream that successors would have access to only 1 relic. I do hope you're right, of course,.

Maybe some successors get one specific relic? Would be weird if they had access to only one relic overall.

Yeah, it sounds like the death company get a free move at the beginning of the game stratagem

There is also a stratagem that gives blood angels characters and extra D3 attacks

Black Rage is unchanged

They were asked directly if the death company had an ability to pile in and attack twice.  They didn't say they did.  Not quite saying "No", but about as close as you can get.

Also, they said all the unit options in the space marine codex are now available to the blood angels.  Sounds like space marines +1 now.

A free move for Deathcompany? Mmmh. Could be pointless if we don't get the first turn since the enemy could simply blast them away then but I guess having an easy charge half the time is better than having to rely on getting off a 9" charge after deep striking all the time.

Is that not Gravis? it looks it looks like a BA-ified version of the Dark Imperium Gravis captain. On the top half at least.

Other than the air support and DC marine no evidence of the regulars :(

indeed one of the few ball drops that move the codex below an "A" greade for me :(

Specifically noted as not the case afaik, sfPanzer :/ will have to be "counts as"

weird...and sad indeed...

It is gravis armor.

They have also clarified that Blood Angels do not get Centurions.

They also heavily hinted at a large angelic being around chrismas.  IE, hint towards a primarch.

They dont, no :(

They may have overstated the options- its not definitely "all".

(iron clads, centurians etc)

Well not all of them, Centurions were already noted of not being included. I'm guessing it's just the vehicles that are being added.

I think I will be sticking with my idea of giving my successor chapter BA shoulder pads on the right to signify us operating as a legion again...and then just give them the <BLOOD ANGELS> keyword so I can use whatever relics I want. Close enough...

yeah the relics are BA specific, except a sword made from shards of Sanguinius' sword which apparently all chapters get.

no centureons,

some squads got more options than they used to have.

intercessor sergeants still chainsword only

death company can get a free move

no changes to characters that are in space marine codex (other than they affect BA units not marine ones).

we get the units already specified.

doesnt look like we get a fight twice strategem, but do get one that allows a character to get d3 extra attacks (so... less impressive, probably cheaper)

He made a number of lore blunders too.

Tell me about this Angelic being. Exactly what was said?

I don't remember word for word and it was kind of one of those statements they weren't trying emphasize.  Basically he said something about a large angelic being coming around chrismas.  Honestly, not a lot of information on it.  Several people in the chat took it to mean the Lion.

He did slip and say something about Sanguinius in stasis. He's coming back.

Yup, he mentioned Sanguinius in statis during the question about giving Sanguinius a jump pack.  He did say you couldn't because he was dead and in statis.

Death Company seem unchanged which sucks. Seems like my 2 favorite units Baal Preds and Death Company will languish this edition. :sad.:

DC will still be viable and see there way into many lists on account of the synergy with the movement strat.

But beyond that, vanvets are sadly obviously better.  Give up a bolt pistol attack for 4 attacks always and 5++ (near a banner) rather than 6++ and you're left questioning why bother with DC.

The Baal and the DC are set to be my biggest disappointments with an otherwise incredibly exciting and well designed dex.

( Dante will be the sad addition to round off a tri-fecta of fail :( )

But, still....the dex is shaping up to be miles better than most - including myself - would have imagined.
