I have two quick questions about Tzaangors. I love them and want to add a second unit to my army. Will 20 man units work? I had been using a single horde of 30, but was interested in experiences with lower numbers.

Also a second modelling question. I've been trying to shove Kairic Acolytes into my army as cultists even though I don't like cultists (I also play Age of Sigmar). Recently I saw someone on another forum say they use them as Tzaangors with Tzaangor blades, since they use the same base size and are about the same size. Would you be okay playing against units of Tzaangors with Kairic Acolytes in the same paint scheme mixed in to the unit? I would not be fielding any cultists or normal humans in such an army. Just curious, I like the models and it would be great to get double use out of them.

I squeeze my Kairic acolytes onto 25mm bases and give them the tzaangor auto pistol. Works well and they work on the smaller bases, though they might stub their toes a lot! It’s nice to have a healer option to fill out troops requirements but tzaangors are superior in most cases, I just use one squad to squeeze out 30 points for my other more elite units.

**cheaper not healer, stupid autocorrect :)

I would think that in friendly games people won't mind you using acolytes as tzangors, but I wouldn't rely on it during a tournament or warhammer event. I think the acolytes make fantastic cultists in a Thousand Sons army, again as Tamika said, make sure they are on 25mm bases, to avoid upsetting people in competitive games.

A good trick is to use cork or something similar to make the 25mm base area slightly larger so they acolytes don't look so cramped on the 25mm base :)
