patchestheclown
Well from some of the leaks/posting of GW looks like orks are getting a little bit in the new Chapter Approved book 3++ has some great pictures of a book for point costs, some big take aways Klaws are now only 13 points (used to be 25) Big Choppas are now 7 points (used to be 9) 1 CP strategem - Dakka Dakka Dakka, in shooting phase all 6's to hit for a squad generate an additional attack (I see it only being really useful on tank bustas or grot/mek gunz) Warlord Trait - +1 Strength, sorta cool but I find survivability a bigger issue than hitting stuff, but this would make a PK warboss hit at S14 meaning you would wound most vehicles on a 2+ which is totally awesome! Relic - Basically a super big choppa, S +2, AP - 2, D3 dmg, could be solid on a warboss since no minus to hit like a klaw, but the flat 2 dmg from a normal big choppa will be missed (I always seem to roll 1's for dmg) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341818-chapter-approved/ Share on other sites
Noeh
Morkanauts are down a whole....34 points. Still nowhere near worth it. That's still waaaaay too high for something that crumbles so easily to enemy fire and can't hit the broad side of a space ship because of it's 5+ BS.Klaws going down is absolutely amazing since everyone else already got that buff ages ago. Dakka Dakka Dakka could probably be better, but it's alright.Overall I think we're still just stuck waiting for a codex to be put out. If GW has their way and repeats past performance, we're just going to get another joke codex though. patchestheclown 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341818-chapter-approved/#findComment-4944977 Share on other sites
patchestheclown
I was hoping when I saw the graphic that both the gorka and morka - naught would go down in price. Do you feel that either one is worth it for the points? I love the gorkanaught but its ~360pts and I just dont see him stacking up against similarly priced items from other armies (landraider, knights, etc) I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Ork codex Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341818-chapter-approved/#findComment-4945444 Share on other sites

A morkanaut can only be considered worth it for the enormous radius of the KFF. A Gork is still more useful due to it's CC capabilities. So yeah..a shame still, but for being such enormous targets, they can be dropped without issue by their equivalent in points from many other units. Warhead01
Ok but how many of them have you seen in the same list? I've got 4 Gorkanauts and 2 Morkanauts and am tempted to field 2 of each and loads of boys and grots in a list. Usually just one of anything Ork related gets destroyed but 2 or more does better. Noeh
It sounds like a huge amount of points when you could field more wounds and damage worth of units for the same cost. Fun? Sure! Big stompy things rock for fun. Is it competitive? Hell naw. They won't even make it halfway across the field against Something like Admech. (Seriously, my Mork was obliterated in one round of shooting from those guys. It wasn't even the whole army. Like they still shot the rest to pieces.)I really just think Orks are one of those armies that will have to wait till a codex to become a true powerhouse. GW has insisted that the same team is putting together each and every codex. Maybe we should hopw to be the last codex so we have to most OP book ever....considering that every codex keeps getting stronger and stronger. Warhead01
Haha yep a load of points but I only have space wolves and some other Marines to worry about right now. I've used on just once and it takes a beating! I hope our codex in last or next to last just so it's a good one. we had the first one out the gate last edition and that turned into a fairly bad time. Still this Index list has been really good in my games and it should only get better. Noeh
Oh yeah, if nobody hits the thing it kills so many things. Sadly a morkanaut's purpose is to throw up a huge forcefield and then use high power guns to blast a hole through the enemy. Issue being, it can't take a solid hit too often or it dies..and it has a better chance to hurt itself than hit the enemy. Warhead01
Back on the topic of the Chapter Approved, can anyone quote the Mob up stratagem? I've read what people have posted on line and am confused at to the more exact wording. On one thread some one posted that the units mobbing up must be from the same data sheet, in a video review they say that they join to be come one unit for all rules purposes. I get the gist of the rule but am unclear about if the units must have the same data sheet. The only Keyword I have seen referenced is Infantry and nothing else. But I'm only able to go off of what other people have posted. Really interested to find out more about this. Edit. disregard the above question I was sent a link to a video review. Everything is clear now.
