Thanks Firepower.  There are some subtle purples and sepia in the armor but the light and poor camera dont really show it.

 

I painted 2 Custodes in the traditional gold scheme from GW and was not really digging it.  

 

I really like lil legends studios Custodes and how much darker they were in terms of golds.  

 

Now I need to determine what accent colors im going to go with? 

 

Purple would pretty good.

The New Color looks great, Kinda the color I was searching for to use on Sisters of Silence. How and with what did you achive that silverish purplish goldish color?

The gold was something like this.

 

Based with blighted gold from P3 from my airbrush.

 

Highlighted with radiant platinum from P3 from my airbrush.

 

I used a fairly diluted wash of agrax on the whole fig.  

 

After this I use sepia and purple washes for the deepest recesses.  

 

You can add some highlights of the radiant platinum and your choice of silver to the armor as well.

 

I really, really like P3 paints.  They are very smooth and are typically thinned much more than GW/Vallejo paint in my opinion.

Wonderful, just oredered some platinum, that is the exact highlight im looking for.

 

Questions for your airbrush what do you thin the platinum with?

I'd suggest painting the hand grips on the Guardian spear another colour as the red is too bright and attracts the eye to the spear rather than the main areas of the model. Otherwise, looks good. :tu:

I thin almost everything with windex.  Some people are afraid to use it through their airbrush but ive never had an issue.

I agree.  The only real part of the fig im not 100% happy with is the spear.

Maybe switch spear and plume to purple or a deep blue. Love the armor though.

Also howd you do the gloves its a great color
