Today we had a heated "discussion" about some grenades of the Death Guard, and we have two sides that can not agree. The question is:

Does the Blight Racks ability of Biologus Putrifier affect the Unholy Death's Head ability of Foul Blightspawn?

I assume it is not possible because Blight Racks says "Increase the Strength and Damage characteristics of all blight grenades", and Unholy Death’s Head specifies that "can throw an unholy death’s head grenade INSTEAD of either a blight grenade or a hyper blight grenade". So Unholy Death’s Head are not blight grenades, but a different grenade. I am right?

I was also confused about this, but ruling is clear:
Blight racks: Increase the strength and damage characteristics of all blight grenades [...]

unholy death's head: [...] can throw an unholy death's head instead of a blight grenade [...]

so its dosent stack for the same reason 2 biologus putrifier cant buff one another. (they are equipped with hyper blight grenade and not blight grenade)

so you are right :)

for my part, the confusion came from thinking that the biologus made other unit throw Hyper blight grenade. But in the rules, he only upgrades the regular blight grenade to the same profile.

however, if you are in a position where both a biologus and a blightspawn are within 3'' just make the biologus the thrower and get the same effect since unholy death's head read:

[...] can throw an unholy death's head instead of [...] a hyper blight grenade. when they do, change that weapon's type to Grenade 2d6

This is never an issue unless you were planning having multiple Blightspawn all throw death's head while standing near 1 Biologus.

I always use the Blightspawn's death's head to let the Biologus throw his hyper blight 2d6 so this is never an issue.  Why would you ever want your Blightspawn to throw a grenade instead of using his flamer anyways?  You can only do one or the other.
