The SW of Njal are completely outnumbered. But when the TS set foot in the real world, tey become dust.At the end, the sorcerer and the SW make peace because they realised that they've been tricked. Issakar Orr closes the last portal to give time to the SW to evacuate the planet because magnus is behind them. He then returns in the portals, resolved to fight against his primarch and what he has become. I believe that we'll see this sorcerer in a next book or the future campaign So Iskaar is still around and kicking? thats awesome, I'd love to see him become a character with rules as loyal sons. The 13th Company from the old Black Crusade lore is retconned I think. The only thing that we have is : Reveal hidden contents The wulfens who have been freed from the network of portals. Oups, I didn't read the first volume of Gathering Storm. Good news if other marines from the 13th exited at this occasion. Dantay VI Posted December 3, 2017 Share Posted December 3, 2017 With regards Lee Lightner and Rune Priests Hidden Content There was a rune priest with Bulveye, for it was him who opened the gate for Ragnar to get back to the mortal realm with the spear of russ, and he was seen at the gate saying farewell, before going back in to join the rest of the 13th company in the warp. In the old eye of terra campaign which introduced the 13th company, they had rune priests with teir own special power called "gate" which teleported te rune priest and a chosen unit pretty much anywhere they wanted on the battlefield. But what I say is that there is no Rune Priest traped with Bulveye in the network of portals on Prospero in the book Ashes of Prospero. I know that there was Rune Priest with the 13th in the old lore of the 13th Black Crusade and in the Ragnar's books of Lee Lightner. But, in Ashes of Prospero, there is none described.I fear that this part of the old lore has been retconned. DarkChaplain Posted December 3, 2017 Share Posted December 3, 2017 I don't think it has been retconned, considering that Legends of the Dark Millennium: Space Wolves has been pretty recent and set up some flags for the upcoming Curse of the Wulfen. I'd be more inclined to say that there were few Rune Priests that a) didn't turn feral and b) survived, or even c) were "capable" of handling portals. Besides, we've only seen a few of the 13th Great Company in books, while we know from campaign supplements that there were a whole bunch spread around during the 13th Black Crusade, some of which probably had Priests with them. To the point of earning the respect and acceptance they deserve from both the wolves and the imperium as a whole. While also finding some peace/common ground or forgiveness towards the wolves from the tragedy that was prospero. Iskaar Is set till find a way out of the changing, and also to fight his primarch by any means. In the mean time he will search the portal system for any more of his brothers. If ahriman can either find a way to stop the changing, or iskaar, ahriman and the help of yvraine find a way to stop it then iskaar and the loyal sons may leave the portal system and fight Magnus. Which would be friggin amazing. But his soul has remained emprisoned in the portals until he is drawn to the soul of Njal who is wandering too near of Prospero. Njal carries the shard of the soul of Issakar during the main part of the book before Njal heals the body of Issakar to thank him for his cooperation that has permited to find the emprisoned SW of the 13th. The 200 TS 30k who were also emprisoned in the network of portals do escape from the portal. But when they set foot in "the real world on Prospero", their bodies turn to dust and their armours fall to the ground, certainly because of the Rubric of Ahriman. The SW of Njal then destroy the armour to send their souls in the warp and give them time for their rescue mission in the network. For the network of portals, it's a network that the TS have built during the Great Crusade. Magnus has used it to teleport the planet of the Sorcerer back in real space and plans to use it for his plans with the endless army of daemons. I don't remember well "A Thousand Sons" but for me this network is connected to the Webway of the eldar. but I can be mistaken. He was instrumental in shaping the game into what it is today, and I can't really think of anyone left at the company that could do a better job tbh. No, you're perfectly right. The planet of Sorcerers is in the Prospero system but not too close to it. Reveal hidden contents Magnus and the Thousand Sons do intervene on Prospero. When the forces of Njal arrive to Prospero, cultists of Magnus are at the surface reclaiming the planet and the Rubric are fighting in the network of portals. Here they are confronted to the SW of the 13th. Njal and his force arrive just in the middle of a fight. Magnus intervenes in the network when he senses that the SW are doing something special. But he is delayed by a trick of Lukas which gives precious minutes to the SW to evacuate the network and let Issakar seal the main portal. The forces of Magnus are in the network and are delayed by this sealing. As I said the combined force of Njal and Bulveye are not back to Fenris. They have maybe just evacuated Prospero. That's what leads me to say that there is something coming after this book. Maybe a worldwide campaign with the return of Leman Russ. I don't know if the TS 40k have a fleet. For me, they only use the network of portals or warp rifts. But I'm not a specialist. I don't know if the Silver towers are cruisers. But for me, they are locked on the Planet of Sorcerers for now after what happened during Wrath of Magnus.
