jgascoine011
Is the twin heavy stubber worth taking? Looking at the FW FAQ, it looks as though you can take 3 of these in a grenadier squad because FW for some reason classed it as a ranged weapon instead of a heavy weapon or (what it should be really) a special weapon. Therefore according to the FAQ Your sgt can replace his hot shot las pistol with a twin heavy stubber, then take another 2 in a squad. 18 S4 shots & 7/14 S3 AP-2 shots for about 110 points is not too bad. Personally I would love FW to move these to special weapons and give the grenadiers the option to take a heavy weapon squad so it can fulfil the machine gun role the "germans" were famous for in WW1 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341946-dk-twin-heavy-stubber/ Share on other sites
Tirak
What? The Death Korps of Krieg Wargear list on page 56 of the Imperial Armor book doesn't list the Twin Heavy Stubber at all. The Ranged Weapon list the Grenadier Sergeant can take only includes the Bolt Pistol, Boltgun, hot-shot laspistol, hot-shot lasgun, laspistol and plasma pistol. Withershadow
He said FAQ. But that’s obviously a giant error, since heavy weapon teams are formed out of two members. A Sgt taking that as his weapon is pretty ludicrous. They did go up to 8 points in CA. Mitchverr
I dont see how you get that, it says that up to 2 models may take heavy stubbers, not twins. If you mean the "ranged weapons" no, that is in application to the points and stats pages of ALL ranged weapons, they still classify as a heavy weapon system or a unique weapon for the grenadiers in which it specifically says 2 per squad with no mention of the squad leader depending on the version of heavy stubber (twin or single) Page 56 – Wargear, Heavy WeaponsChange the fourth bullet point to read:‘• Twin heavy stubber Page 60 – Death Korps Grenadier Storm Squad,Wargear OptionsChange the fourth bullet point to read:‘• Up to two Grenadiers may replace their hot-shotlasguns with either a heavy stubber or an item from the Death Korps of Krieg Special Weapons list .’ Add the following bullet point:‘• Two other Grenadiers may form a Death Korps Grenadier Weapons Team with a heavy flamer.’ (the above is the only mention of their ability to take a stubber or heavy weapon) Page 116/117/118 are back of book pages, so dont go under "ranged weapons" as found on page 56 Halfpint100 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341946-dk-twin-heavy-stubber/#findComment-4949401 Share on other sites
jgascoine011
Ah ok So heavy stubbers are still pointless then.... Also, does anyone know if the centaur is open topped? I know it was in 7th Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341946-dk-twin-heavy-stubber/#findComment-4949553 Share on other sites
Mitchverr
It doesnt shoot out, make an email to forgeworld and point out its inconsistancies with other vehicles of the same "type" (ie no hull roof) that carried that rule across with them. Heavy stubber grenadiers are not really worth it (should be a RF2 gun or something like that imo but oh well), twin heavy stubber heavy weapon squads however are very much a viable option, similar effect as the heavy bolter on most infantry targets. Withershadow
Heavy stubber grenadiers make for awesome hotshot volley gun stormtroopers. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/341946-dk-twin-heavy-stubber/#findComment-4949795 Share on other sites
