Halfpint100
Yes you need a heavy bolter or a heavy flamer on them Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342145-basilisks/#findComment-4955604 Share on other sites
duz_
From memory the kit only comes with a HB although the codex allows for heavy flamers too. You could magnetise it easy enough to switch as needed. Personally I prefer the HB as a cheap and cheery option Guardsman Bob 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342145-basilisks/#findComment-4955697 Share on other sites

Nicodemus Doloroso
In the old days my heavy flamer equipped Basilisk caught a few opponents off guard and caused much rage when a weapon destroyed was rolled and they thought the Basilisk was totally neutralized without it’s Earthshaker. Then it rolled up and cooked some tightly packed unawares infantry. It wouldn’t have the same shock effect now but could still work with a weakened bassie since damage would not impact the HF. Withershadow
Heavy flamers are too expensive for that. If it was an even swap for heavy bolters, then sure. WarriorFish
Yep, the heavy flamer is still a good hull weapon for Bassies but unfortunately not so much for the price tag. Shame I built mine before I started with magnets Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342145-basilisks/#findComment-4956852 Share on other sites
