Thrown Pommel
With the codex out I'm ready to expand my Blood Angels from just the Dark Imperium set. I'm thinking of getting the Death Company Strike Force box set for a nice juicy assault element, but I'd like to see if anybody had some tips for starting a Blood Angels force. Here's what I own that I can use already... The Dark Imperium Set Stormraven Gunship Roughly 20 tactical marine bodies from Betrayal at Calth that are in a useable state 5 cataphractii terminators (unbuilt) cataphractii captain (unbuilt) There's also some stuff from my current Deathwatch army that I could share. My successor colors are pretty similar lol. 2 razorbacks with either twin assault cannons or twin lascannons 2 rhinos (cannot be razorbacks, no turret) 5 Drop Pods :( Any advice on the best way to add some strong Blood Angels options to this? Thanks!
Aothaine
Seems you already have quite a bit. Advising you on what to grab next would need some more information. What type of list are you trying to run? Competitive or Fluffy? For Competitive grab the following: Sanguinary Guard Sanguinary Ancient The Sanguinor Dante Corbulo HellBlaster Squads For Fluffly grab the following: 1-2 Tactical boxes 1-2 Scout boxes 1-2 Intecessors 1-2 Inceptors possibly a Baal or three? What are you looking to do with your force? Where do you want to go? What do you enjoy building and painting? Thrown Pommel 1 Back to top
Thrown Pommel
I'm a pretty competitive person, and like to run strong lists, but I usually try to be as fluffy or thematic as I can within that. I am really drawn to the 15 man death company unit. So many attacks! Guess I need to build the rest of my list around the weaknesses of Death Co. What would be a good follow up punch for Death Company. They seem like a glass hammer to me. Anyway I think I'm gonna go the Death Co. route first. Any tips with that? Thanks! Aothaine
Did you want your DC to focus on infantry or monsters/vehicles? If you focus DC on anti-infantry I would focus the rest of your army on anti-monsters/vehicles. Predators, Devastators, Hellblasters IIf you focus DC on anti-monster/tank then you need something to clear the chaff for them. Razorbacks with Twin-AC, Stormravens with hurricane bolters/heavy bolters/Assault Cannons/ Twin-AC/Heavy Bolter Baal preds/ etc.
Xenith
There's no reason competitive cannot be fluffy. As ever, pick the units you like the look of the most. Paint them. Use them every game. Work out what you're armies weakness is, buy new models to shore up that weakness. Things you lack are close assault and long range shooting, also fast elements. Look at death co, sanguard, assault marines, or reivers if you want to focus on primaris. Also look at stormhawks, predators, Dev squads, or more hellblasters for primaris focus.
