Gorlak
It appears from various topics that running Death Company with jump packs, chainswords and bolters is a good starting point with the new Codex. Has anyone attempted to model that yet? My first thought was to use the two-handed bolter from the Death Company kit, and the separate holstered chainswrd from the Mk.III marine kit added beneath the jump pack. That just doesn't seem to say 'Black Rage-fueled monsters' to me. Therefore, the next obvious option is to go for one handed bolter and chainsword in the other hand. Has any one already modeled that? Does it look out of balance? What are people planning for this new setup? Subsided
I have about 30 bolter/chainsword. They look fine. If you have assault marines they look the same stylewise (bolter replaced with bolt pistol for them) They do look way better with gun/sword compared to 2 handing the gun and a sword put away. Gorlak
That sounds like the right thing to do. What parts did you use to model that? Did you take the arms with bolt pistol and swap the pistol for a bolter? Xerxus
I did a few conversions with separate bolters and arms, but mostly I just used the righthanded bolter arms from the sprue and posed them appropriately. Looks good enough. A shame that the rules favor bolters so much, I would prefer to model them with bolt pistols. Aothaine
Chainsword bayonets on the bolter ! Pretty sure that Brother Crimson has the right idea here. I'll have to give it a test run and see if it is possible to add it on the bottom like they do with combi-weapons. brother_b
Chainsword bayonets on the bolter ! I have some of these from the first edition. I'm definitely going to find a way to install one on one of my minis. I also have a bunch of chainsword/bolters from back in the day too. No hands attached, I'll be able to model them "mag locked" onto my DC.
