So because Inceptors cost £30 for 3 models and Hellblasters are £37.50 for Ten with a BA upgrade sprue, I'm thinking of using converted Hellblasters as Inceptors.

Sticking on a Jump Pack is easy enough... But what about adding a bit of bulk to convey that T5?

What do people think might be an elegant solution?

i'd say a jump-pack (the classic assault marine kind because of its size, rather than say the sanguine guard packs) and the shock absorbers would go a very long way to make them look the part, especially if you also repose them abit to be more dynamic and "jumpy" (which can also be used for extra height with the classic "tiptoeing on rocks" sorta setup)

aside from that i'll echo just getting the snap fit ones and maybe use old spare plasma guns or something for them if you want that dualwielding look. they come in both the "know no fear" and "dark imperium" boxes, so getting a decent chunk of them should not be too hard considering the low numbers you'd normally field these guys in

I think adding Jump Packs to Hellblasters is honestly about the most inelegant solution.  There are so many ways to obtain the real models inexpensively and mofiying them would still be easier than the original idea.

agreed, inceptors are cheap online if you want inceptors,

for example a quick ebay search:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warhammer-40k-Primaris-Inceptor-Squad/272967162552?hash=item3f8e1c5ab8:g:tusAAOSwUM5aJF1U

10 quid for 3 bolter inceptors from Dark Imperium.

you can get the plasma guns for them for about 4 quid per marine from bits sites, or you could have a pop at making your own using plasma canons.

or, just buy a regular squad of inceptors from an alternative source that sells at discount (element games, dark sphere etc).

they have two plasma weapons, so whatever models you make should ideally also have two.
