Cheesy101
So, now my guard are all sorted for 8th I thought I'd turn my attention to my poor, neglected wolves. I'd like to try and build up a firehowlers style highly mobile, aggressive force centered around bikes, jump infantry and my thunder wolves because I love them. List I've come up with so far is: Battalion Wolf lord on thunderwolf, ss and thunder hammer Wolf priest on bike Troops Grey hunter's x5, plasma gun Grey hunter's x5, plasma gun Grey hunter's x5, plasma gun Fast attack Thunderwolf cavalry x3 Thunder hammer + ss Frost sword + ss Frost sword + ss Thunderwolf cavalry x3 Thunder hammer + ss Frost sword + ss Frost sword + ss Vanguard HQ Wgbl on bike Ss + storm bolter Elite Wolf guard on bike x5 Ss + storm bolter Wolf guard on bike x5 Ss + combi plas Wolf guard with jump pack x5 Thunder hammer + ss Frost sword + ss x4 This comes to roughly 1600pts, so another 400 pts to add. Obviously this is far from optimized and is mostly just an ideas dump. At present can't afford to add a stormwolf or wulfen,so have discounted them for now. Other models I and can add are: long fangs, rune priest, ven dread with axe and shield, murderfang, blood claws. Oh, and lots of useless drop pods.... Any advice on where to take this list will be much appreciated! Deadnaughty
This is the second list now that i've seen with Heavy weapons on Grey Hunters. Did I miss a change somewhere? Because their supposed to be limited to only special weapons. Guest
Many new comers believe they can mix and match SM codex with SW Index. No you still can't take heavy weapons on GH. Kasper_Hawser
any tanks you can add to the mix? 400 points also equals 4 Razorbacks with Heavy Bolters, or 3 with Twin Lascannons. I think 3 with Twin Lascannons is decent enough and provide some much needed anti-tank to your list. Might also distract your opponent's heavy weapons to go after the Razorbacks instead of your troops. Cheesy101
Thanks kasper, I was thinking of adding some long range anti-big stuff and it was either long fangs or razorbacks. Don't have any at the moment, but could get hold of some. Was also thinking of swapping round the cc jump wolf guard and the combi bike squad's load out around. Give the jump unit the combi Plas and the bikes cc weapons- they should stick around a bit longer. Gherrick
A bit overbudget, but long fangs LC x 5, TDAWG with CML/SS/SB inside a plasma obliterator makes for a whole lot of heavy dakka that will take a godly amount of firepower to bring down. It's unfortunate there isn't any way of giving it reroll of 1s, but you can not use it unless absolutely necessary.
