TheBattenBurger
I may have sniffed too much Warpdust, but hear me out I've got a Narrative Campaign coming up set on a Caribbean style ocean world. The Majority of the maps will be water (Shallow or Deep) and it will have things like Sharks and the mighty Kraken to spice up the games. Naturally the Campaign draws heavily from things like Pirates of the Caribbean and Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag. My Raptors are designed around basically being a mess around army and they feature in the Campaign as an NPC. For some reason they are Pirates. Why? Because it gives me an excuse to deck out the new Astraeus Super Heavy Tank like a Pirate Ship with a Black Flag and all that, and convert my old Scouts in Land Speeder Storms into little boarding boats. Slap em on a load of Painted poly filler and water effects and they are all riding the waves in style! I digress however. My Pirates need a leader who can do it all and swing with the best, so I chose Guilliman and naturally wanted a badass Pirate Space Marine Captain version of Edward Kenway to be his counts as. The problem is that everyone in my local area is very pedantic when it comes to conversions. I turned a Dreadknight into a Titan Fall style battlesuit by painting it grey and giving it a head and no terminator on the front and they still get funny about me fielding it. So in order to keep them happy I'll have to make my Edward Kenway out of the Guilliman model. Any ideas, advice or previous attempts at a Space Marine Assassin? I'd love to hear them Edited December 14, 2017 by TheBattenBurger Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342344-converting-guillimans-40k-model-into-edward-kenway/ Share on other sites
Arkhanist
I'd personally go a more generic pirate with a tricorn hat, peg leg and a parrot on his shoulder ;) For Kenway, though you'd want a hood for starters. Greenstuff or swap for a dark angels head; the latter would be a touch small, so you'd want to bulk it a bit around the neck and a thicker hood to conceal it. Then a brace of pistols on the chest. Zinge industries do some orc-scale ancient pistols that might fit, or perhaps some from the Arkanaut Company. You'd also want to try and replicate the coat a bit; more greenstuff round the legs to get that flappy long coat bit, and a cloak, dropping the halo. Maybe a sash round the belt area too. You could also switch the sword for a scimitar, but I can't think of any that would fit that kind of scale. Ahistorian
Deathwing Knight heads are quite large, that might work. Would Wraithguard or Kurnoth swords be right? Spiky Norman
Deathwing Knight heads are quite large, that might work. Would Wraithguard or Kurnoth swords be right? A Wraithlord sword is the right size, but it still looks pretty Eldar'ish, though. Maybe the sword from the Ogor Ironguts if you want something a bit more crude or cutlass'ish. TheBattenBurger
I love the Parrot idea, I may actually use that :D I was thinking maybe a few Phosphor Serpentas as the brace of pistols. They are Flintlock in style and GW bits :) I'll see if I could steal a Deathwing Knight Head off of my Dark Angel friend to try it :D I was also thinking of maybe using Guilliman's head and Greenstuffing a hood on. Maybe even leaving the Helmet in I think the Wrathlord sword is a great idea. It could be one he stole off of a Wraithlord and customised it to his use. I've got to got true Edward Keyway though and have him duel welding them :D Any ideas on an alternate left arm that isn't a Power Fist? :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342344-converting-guillimans-40k-model-into-edward-kenway/#findComment-4961840 Share on other sites

TheBattenBurger
Maybe this is a bridge too far? Is there any other Primarch sized models that would be a good basepoint? I'm thinking maybe Angron as he already has 2 Close Combat Weapons and a more aggressive pose. Claws and Effect
Russ maybe? Also has 2 close combat weapons, and iirc has a cloak of some kind that could be converted to a coat.
