Imperator Deus
Probably so you don't get regimental bonuses on your warhound titan I would have thought that you couldn't do that because Warhound Titans don't have the <Regiment> keyword. Only the Baneblade/Shadowsword variants have the <Regiment> keyword don't they? Plasmablasts
Perhaps the restriction on the Superheavy Auxiliary Detachment is to stop people getting the regimental bonus when taken alone in a soup list. GW does seem to have had a recent spate of addressing problems by multiple nerfs (Conscripts/Commissar, now Astropaths). I like to think that the new beta testing system allows them to take a more coordinated approach. Also, hopefully, drastic nerfs will become less common as more Codices are released and the meta starts to settle. Withershadow
^as the above, Guard superheavies are already among the most potent of LOWs, and regimental bonuses can really push them to crazy levels. Being able to cherry-pick Guard superheavies with regiment bonus of choice seems like a bad idea. CoffeeGrunt
But it doesn't because Smite is still easier to cast. Plus why would GW force you to use other powers? They don't make money off that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342395-new-beta-rules/page/2/#findComment-4963392 Share on other sites
Schlitzaf
So...all this aside is spending 30-36 Points on the abiltity to deny is that worth it? (Without a command point) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342395-new-beta-rules/page/2/#findComment-4965443 Share on other sites
micahwc
Depends on your opponent. I've played against Grey Knights when I've brought a lot of psykers (malefic lords in a Chaos list), and they shut down the Grey Knights pretty effectively with all the opportunities to deny, which basically neutered the Grey Knights. mertbl
I swear I read somewhere that the beta rules will be in effect for Lad Vegas Open. In recent memory, everything frontline has done for their events, GW has made law. I'd just start playing with the rules and get used to it. Schlitzaf
Micah, I am thinking of taking a single Astropath it conserve CP (instead of having to repeatedly use BT strategem) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342395-new-beta-rules/page/2/#findComment-4965520 Share on other sites
micahwc
It gives you a chance to deny, and a chance to smite. It's not that many points. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342395-new-beta-rules/page/2/#findComment-4965533 Share on other sites
Lysere
I swear I read somewhere that the beta rules will be in effect for Lad Vegas Open. In recent memory, everything frontline has done for their events, GW has made law. I'd just start playing with the rules and get used to it. They said they would be testing it at the LVO since it is a massive tournament and the rule is meant for matched play. Makes sense really.
