WolfPriestBarachiel
What're the best options for Stormfang this edition? Looking for something flexible that will be able to take down en-mass attacks as well as vechicles. Kasper_Hawser
Very hard to say, so far been using the Stormwolf instead. To keep the cost from being too high, suggest you stay with heavy bolters and stormstrike missiles. WolfPriestBarachiel
Stormstrikes are like 2 or 3 points cheaper than lascannons which are slighty better... Your opinion on it? Rune Priest Jbickb
I take my storm wolf full price (Las cannons, melta the whole 9) and it's a beast. Pricy yes but durable and devastating. Sturm Moonwolf
My sponsons are magnetised to I can do either heavy bolters or MM's. I've found just using heavy bolters has been good enough though. My stormfang gunship has never really had an issue crippling, if not destroying a big target. 2 lascannon shots and 3 helfrost destructor shots put a wallop on most anything. The main reason i prefer the heavy bolter with the helfrost destructor (besides being cheaper) is for heavy infantry (or bikes) cleanup. There's a big difference between the Destructor and the twin helfrost cannon. The Destructor is flat 2 damage when in dispersed mode, not 1 like the helfrost cannon. Karhedron
I like the ability to put devastating but short-ranged weaponry like multi-meltas on a fast-moving platform that does not suffer from the -1 to hit when moving thanks to POTMS. We have plenty of sources of infantry-mulching weaponry elsewhere in our arsenal but good MM caddies are hard to come by in 8th. Deadnaughty
I feel like the MM's just add so much to the cost and lead to a heavy 'all eggs in one basket' situation. Gherrick
Aye, for me it's TLMM x 2, and make sure the choice bits are cooked good. There have been plenty of times the dice gods have been stingy, and even 4 MM shots aren't enough to take out that heavy target. IMO, our flyers aren't meant for anti-infantry. WolfPriestBarachiel
Thanks Borhers (and Sisters). I'll probably go with MM and Lascannons since friend of mine really likes big shiny vechicles... And he plays as CSM. Not to mention wraithguard with their T buffs...
