Brother Ambroz
Hey guys I'm going to be starting a DIY Primaris chapter and would like some input on a few color schemes I've had in mind. The greys will actually be grey, although the colors will be darker throughout for the most part. Any suggestions or comments would be super helpful and appreciated. First one is probably my favorite although its the most basic. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/sm.php?b62c=@hB889_hp8kW.h1VNS@.@@@@@h7B5Tiakk7_@@__@@@@@@@@@@@_@_@@@@@@@@@@@..@@@@@@@@iakk7@.@@_iakk7& http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/sm.php?b62c=@hB889_hp8kW.h1VNS_.@_@@@h7B5Tiakk7_@@__@@@@__@@__@_._.@@@@@@@@@@..@@@@@@@@iakk7@.___iakk7& http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/sm.php?b62c=@hB889_hp8kW.h1VNS_.@_@@@h7B5Tiakk7_@@__@@@@___@____@_@@@@@@@@@@@..@@@@@@@@iakk7@.___iakk7& http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/sm.php?b62c=@hp8kW_hB889.h1VNS@.@@___h7B5Tiakk7@@@i8TzJi8TzJ@@@@__@@__@@_@_@@@@_@@@@_..@@@___@@iakk7@.@@@iakk7& Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342733-color-scheme-help/ Share on other sites
Mileposter
I think your last one will give you the best mileage, overall. There are already soooooo many all-red Chapters (both official and DIY) that straying a bit would help you stand out. The scheme also incorporates a better blend of trims with the gold there - and I think you'll really like the red/grey(or black)/gold combo. It's naturally going to blend well in design. Brother Ambroz
There are a lot, I agree. I also like the last scheme, the main reason I didn't want to go with that one was because it reminds me of some very similar space wolf schemes. Kinstryfe
I like number two, though my favorite would be number three with grey helmets, almost an inverse of number four Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342733-color-scheme-help/#findComment-4968795 Share on other sites
Ultra kblock
I like #4 the best. I also like the suggestion of #3 with a grey helmet. That would really be a unique look and make your marines stand out. Brother Ambroz
Thanks guys, I'm painting up a test model very similar to #4 (same colors basically just darker) so I'll have that ready soon! Magos Takatus
Here is the colour scheme for my DIY chapter which is similar to your test scheme. If it helps, the red is Forge World's Gal Vorbak red and Word Bearers red. You may want to go a bit lighter and use normal GW paints for convenience. Hopefully it will prove useful to see my guys. Personally I think your number 2 marine looks good as well as number 4. By the way, the normal marine was an old test model I did a few years ago, I just found the Forge World paints gave me the deep colour I wanted without having to mix any paints. I also had no way to recall how I painted the metallics so I experimented with scale 75 metallics for my Primaris.
