Merry Christmas one and all,

My son's Grey Knight force is coming along nicely, he has two small strike squads, a razorback, and a grandmaster dreadknight. For christmas he received datacards, castellan crowe and a terminator box, but how would people recommend assembling the terminator box?

Thanks,

Ash

I took the extra knights heads from the strike squad and got a few more for $4 off Ebay (you could also use included the human heads too)

then assembled with some GreyKnights Paladin 10x Falchions and arms also off Ebay for $8

I'm using a few extra Paladin Shoulder pads from the Paladin box, but the included Shoulder pads would paint up fine

lastly use some extra purity seals and inquisition books from the strike box for added fluff and youre all set!

instant wsiwyg paladins !

additionally you can assemble one as an Apothecary,

give him the Hammer from the Strike box and medic arm from the Termie box, to rain terror on your enemies!

The Termie Captain usually doubles as a great Paladin Paragon(sergeant)

I'd recommend Falchions for all (based on on 8th) except for Hammer on the Apothecary

Assemble Paladins, unless you like Terminators a lot more - that much that you don't care how good they are on table at all (it would be strange considering the difference only in 3 bits and doesn't influence equipment at all). Best weapons are falchions, but they are not must-have as for strikes. Paladins already have 3 attacks so taking halberds will not hurt them. If there are a lot of high toughness units in your meta, Halberds can even do better. But generaly Falchions is the best choice. Paragon has 2+ ws, so it is  worth giving him a Hammer. If you want to give them special weapons Psilencer is the best choice. Incinerator will be always out of range after deepstiking and costs twice as much as Psilencer. Psycannon is the same, but does nothing good enough to justify taking it. Living them with just stormbolters is ok too.

Or for the most bang for your $£€ a squad of 3 Paladins, 1 Apothecary, and 1 paladin ancient. Assuming he's not playing super competitively I think that gives the most options/diversity. With an HQ, that's a vanguard detachment right there using only a box of termies. Edited by Soder

He is good only for larger games when he can buff several units. Probably the only unit for which it is worth to use Finest Hour (still 2 CP!). He is still very expensive and you have to manage your charges so he is not left alone out of charge or the only model that charged.

Soder is pretty much spot on with the Paladins and the Apothecary (this guy is the hammer wielding fellow in the box!). I'm not too fond of Ancients myself of any kind. They're faffy on the tabletop due to charges and ranges that need considering. You can always go with a 4th Paladin or have your own Grand Master!

Definitely a unit of three Paladins (with the Paragon wielding the hammer!) and an Apothecary and either Ancient or converting another HQ choice.

I've used the heads of hammers from the Strike Squad box on the warding stave and halberd shafts for more hammers, as they're better used that way than on power armoured units.
