micahwc
I'm considering picking up a Betrayal at Calth box to start a loyalist army. I have a heretic astartes army and a guard army already. I was gifted a land speeder storm for Christmas and I want to be able to put it to use. Any thoughts on how to kit out the 30 marines that come with it? I figure I can make 15 tactical marines and combine them with the terminator captain and chaplain to make a batallion, and then go from there. Any thoughts? Captain Idaho
I used 2 boxes of Betrayal at Calth to build my Ultramarines. Enough for Devastators too. The start you've suggested is good. Add a couple Rhinos and the Tactical Marines can be quite offensive. Cap'm Heckus
I have the same problem. I’ve been sitting on a box of BAC (still wrapped) for a year now. I used one for my Templars but for this other one... Options: - chaos army of some flavor - a 30/40k blood angel army - fallen dark angels Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342762-what-to-build-with-betrayal-at-calth-for-8th/#findComment-4969218 Share on other sites
micahwc
I'd use it for my chaos army but then I'd still have an unused land speeder storm. I need an excuse for all the old marks of armor, I'm thinking a chapter that was lost in a warp storm and then reinforced with modern stuff once it reemerged into real space. Daigo Cannon
I have both Calth and Prospero, I got them after my starter and I still have some of them in sprue waiting to be build. Option 1- Tactical, straight out of the box, as they were meant to be. Option 2 - Bodies for Devastators, 2 boxes of devs get you to the sweet spot of 4 of each heavy weapon.Option 3 - Lieutenant, Sargent, special weapon in normal tactical, if he is honored to have a different weapon why not a different armor. Great way to honor the rank. Wargamer
I built them straight out of the box as is, and am now adding to it with other kits.Personally, I think adding some new heavy weapons, Scouts and a few more Dreadnoughts is a good place to start. micahwc
@Xenith, then terminators with chain fists and combo-bolters and 10 more tactical marines. Magnetize the dreadnought arms? SickSix
@Xenith, then terminators with chain fists and combo-bolters and 10 more tactical marines. Magnetize the dreadnought arms? Sounds like a plan. I used BAC and BOP as the foundation for a Salamanders Heresy army. Xenith
@Xenith, then terminators with chain fists and combo-bolters and 10 more tactical marines. Magnetize the dreadnought arms? Whichever you like - cataphractii are nice and flexible. Magnetise if you can, but I'd run combis and 50/50 claws to chainfists. The 10 other marine bodies can be whatever you like.
