Arentius
Hey all so I’m confused re chapter approved. Take for example long fangs, their unit size got updated to 5-6 from 5-7 However the index says I may add an extra long fang and separately a wolf guard pack leader. So does this new change mean I can now only add one or the other, or do the wgpl not count towards unit size? Thanks!! Fang_Guard23
the pack leader does count toward the unit size, but I thought it always was 5-6 warror, I think you have to pick and choose now. Arentius
Ah coolio thanks! And double checked index definitely says 5-7! Makes sense you have to choose between a ss and an extra heavy weapon though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342841-chapter-approved-query/#findComment-4970722 Share on other sites
TheWolfLord
The rules in the Index tell us to use the unit datasheets for unit size so the numbers in the reference area are just that, for reference. Using the list building rules the unit sizes in the point section have no actual use as you build your unit based on the datasheet rules for number of models and weapons, only when you've finalised the unit build do you refer to the points section for the cost of all models and wargear included. Until the datasheet is amended the squad sizes haven't changed or else you have different squad sizes based on whether you are playing Match Play or Open/Narrative which doesn't make sense. Unit our Codex comes along and updates any datasheets the unit sizes haven't changed. Arentius
That makes much more sense thank you! I’m much happier knowing I can still do this, time to make myself a wgpl I guess! Kasper_Hawser
Yeah, for a moment, I thought I will have to do without my extra heavy weapon. Although to be fair, I rarely if ever use a WGPL for Long fangs. Gherrick
Having a TDAWG with CML/SB/SS is the best pairing for long fangs, IMO. Having a 2+/3++ with two wounds around can keep the whole team around much easier, and provide an extra 2 S8 shots. But I can see the appeal of it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342841-chapter-approved-query/#findComment-4972075 Share on other sites

Considering the TDAWG with a CML becomes the most expensive guy in the unit it makes me hesitant to then use him to tank all incoming shots for the rest of the unit My theory crafting lists always leave them as bullet catchers without the CML Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342841-chapter-approved-query/#findComment-4972081 Share on other sites
