Now that IRL stuff has slowed down, I’m pretty surprised I still have an account here. Thought I’d drop by and see if any of the OG raptor players are still out there. I was rocking a Raptors 10th company and thinking about picking up 8th ed.

Welcome back to the Ravenspire!

I have a 10th company Raptors force that is being expanded to a Full strike team with elements from the 1st, 5th (All Primaris), 7th (tactical squads with heavies and vehicle crews), 8th (assualt squads and Land speeder crews), 9th (Devastator squads) and various units from the armory, Librarius,  Reclusium, and Apothecarion

Happy New Year and welcome back to Prime!

It's a good edition for the Sons of Corax  Share pics if you have them :happy.:

BANNON!! how ya doing bruv... is Yak still active man. Oh I dont have pics, pretty much they've been the same as before. Remember my BlackHawk (Storm Raven) Conversion using a Valkyire. nothing has changed man.

LoL, thanks Bannon. much appreciated.

For the young bloods out there, the reason I have that Storm Lord, it was a thank you from the Catachans during the Third War of Armageddon with the Raptors fighting alongside the Catachans within the Jungles of Aramageddon. Its used as a mobile training base since it can hold 40 troops. If you look close at the pilots, they're space marine scouts. haha

I dunno if you old timer remember, but I have 100 scouts. A bit overkill but eh. it worked for me at the time. I have Lias Issodon and a small contingent of Deathwatch as my sternguard. I also manage to snag the forgeworld hersasy scouts which counts as sternguard/body guard for Lias.

I did play the other day with my Raptors. Dunno if it was a compliment/insult that my list was the fluffiest cheese list that guy has ever seen.

As an old school player that my OG Raven Guard list included ~50 Scouts and ~40 Assault Marines, I approve this message!

You really have to build a list with them in mind and threat overload alpha strike ~30 odd ASM's >15 VV's which is 750pts with just base equipment and jet packs... :huh.:

Oh and you can't have them all in deep strike reserve...

I ran em as a full scout company, I dunno if it’s wors in 8th

Scouts are relatively strong in 8th Ed

There are basically two "optimal" loadouts:

1) Snipers (With or without camo cloaks): Pop characters and camp objectives

2) Bolters (barebones): area denial, objective holding, chaff
