Death Guard poison immunity :/

Battle vs DG today. Problem:

Do DG get their 4+ FnP vs phospex? Generally I would say yes (poison) but phospex is also S5 which means it wounds normal T4 on 3+ anyway. So: how to play this?

It has the poison rule, therefore it is a poison weapon - so you will get your 4+ FNP against it :)

DG definitely get their FnP against phosphex. The only way to ignore it is if the weapon that has poisoned/fleshbane also has Instant Death.

Thanks for responses. I'm not trying to push it but... can someone say he's using S5 to wound and not poisoned? Just to make things clear.

No, I don't believe so, unless the unit is immune to poison (such as targeting a vehicle), in which case they would use the natural S5.

Thanks again. Battle went without problems (defeat), as predicted my opponent took his infamous phosphex achilles x2, suprisingly he didn't argue about FnP (was asking because I assumed he will lol).

 

As a side note - phosphex achilles is a must in my lists form now on. It's insanely powerfull and super difficult to destroy, even more than spartan.

Fyi phosphex quad guns are str4 ap3, medusas are str 5 ap2

That the op said it was strength 5 but is refurring to quad guns. So wouldn't wound on a 3+. Its a 4+. As there str4!

You can't choose strength over poison or sniper though....

 

The problem with the achilles-alpha is that it has no flare shield and 4 hull points. Sure it's harder to explode by a lot, but being AV 15 is usually better than -1 Damage, especially since laser vindicators are so undercosted
