A very interesting list comming out of franky from Frontline Gaming; especially considering he ended up 4th place and pushed Reece's extremely strong Alaitoc CWE list to the absolute limit (Reece ended up winning as should be clear in the article.)

Turns out there is a place in this world for footslog SoB infantry. Tough I must say if I was gonna run a brigade list I'd be doing min squads in immos but that's mostly a preference thing.

Likewise. I dont have that many heavy bolters or seraphim. My brigade consists of min squads fleshed out with a couple of immos and repressor and 3 exorcists. The burden of playing with what you have. Would love to get more seraphim (more everything really) but at $200 a pop, GW obviously doesnt want me to.

Read like a good game. Shame about the fickle dice gods favouring the eldar in a few key places. 28 to 26 is still a bloody strong showing against eldar for an index army! Good game. List needs more fire.

The battle report is a little vague on the subject but it suggests the core of the army - the footslogging sisters - were basically wiped out in an exchange of fire with miscellaneous aspect warriors as a background event to celestine & seraphim vs the big eldar units. Pity there isn't more detail on that part of the game.

It's a decent idea to stack infantry. It means you mute out the usefulness of anti vehicle weapons. The down side is lack of durability and mobility issues. I think the thing we are missing to make something like this really shine is some form heavy infantry like terminator or bikes.

Yes and no. I think certain AoF on a selected few units is what make us viable.

Movement on celestines and seraphim on turn 1.

Shooting on special/heavy weapons, dominion/rets and sometimes seraphim.

Assault on celestines.

Outside of that it can sometimes be situationally useful. Like as you say grabbing objectives or controlling range.

The thing that makes foot sisters work is the more Or less the same thing that makes mech sisters work. Stacking that fast slot with melta. It doesn't matter if it's seraphim or dominions, it equates to the same thing. And with the imagifiers he should be able to launch celestines and all the seraphim 24 inches on turn 1. After that they just chill with the Rets to double shoot. The troops are just there as cannon fodder really and loading them up with melta/obsec means they have to be delt with. To quote an old Adage 'a sister on foot is a dead sister'. Which is part why I bring up the point of US lacking any true heavy infantry and what people were trying to emulate with the beat stick canoness spam.
