Frostblade
Good day, fellow purveyors of all things green and choppy! I come to you all in need of some assistance. I can't seem to find a way to play Orks against Sisters without it being a massive bloodbath/Great Orky Turkey Shoot. He likes to bring Celestine, 3 squads of Retributors (or whichever their heavy weapons squads are called) all with heavy bolters, Imigafers, and at least 3 Immolators. I he gets off his acts of faith pretty consistently, so any big mobs get chewed up by the heavies, and his Immolators keep me from getting anything close enough to assault. I've been able to take down a squad every now and then by Jumping a unit and getting a charge off, but it's still mean overwatch. I've also tried throwing a MANZ missile at them, but by the time they get anywhere, all my Boyz are dead/ran away. Maybe it's just a lack of not having a codex, and sisters specializing in horde weaponry, but it's hella not fun losing 90% of your army before your second turn. dlm2413
I too have had similar issues with the Sister of Battle. I find Tankbustas help to destroy their transports earlier. As far as getting those heavy weapons teams out of the way you can counter with Lootas or possibly mek guns. No matter what it is a up hill battle the acts of faith are very powerful. Also their forgeworld transport I believe it is the repressor is absolutely ridiculous. It works exactly how open topped should but does not. and is way to cheap Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343023-how-to-deal-with-sisters-of-battle/#findComment-4978006 Share on other sites
Noeh
The repressor actually did get a pretty big points hike. It used to be several points more than a rhino fully kitted out but now it's basically those same points base before the various weapons it's required to have. dlm2413
Its still totally worth those points. The fact that it can fall back and the people inside can still shoot like normal ridiculous. That and with the amount of movement you get from that with acts of faith that don't even count as being moved. And I think it gets a scout type move to start the game also i maybe wrong on that but not sure. It is by far one of if not the best transport in the game for the points. in my opinion Ork vehicles really got the shaft this editions. mobile weapons platform not conferring to the troops inside makes no sense. ERJAK
Bubble wrap the transports in melee and kill them so that the girls inside can't get out. That's really your best option. SoB are an army very well suited for dealing with orks. They're faster than you, they shoot better than you, they have great anti-horde and great anti-vehicle, and one of the best special characters in the game. It's a bad matchup for orks but if you exploit how short ranged they are and how vulnerable they are to melee you can absolutely still win.
