odds GW does a reprint of Xenology this year?

Recommended Posts

Still kicking myself that I didn't get a copy back in the day (along with a copy of the Infantryman's Uplifting Primer), but who knows?   With GW bringing back Realms of Chaos, it is possible they may do limited runs of other old fluff books.  That said, I'd say the chance is on the outside, what with all the new stuff coming down the pipe.

Question for those of us who joined the hobby in the back end of 4th ed, but what is Xenology?

Here's the Lexicanum entry : http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Xenology

Basically, from what I recall (lost my copy aaaages ago during a move) it was an Ordo Xenos' inquisitor's notebook, detailing the morphology and habits of various Xenos breeds; there were the usual (Orks and Eldar for example) along with a slew of otherwise unheard of ones, IIRC...

It'd be interesting to see. Xenology is from an era of 40K's background development that I think doesn't get talked about very often, where there was seemingly a conscious push to take the setting away from a "fantasy in space" concept, and give it a lot of realism. It'd be cool to see GW recognize that part of its past a bit more.

also, it was a time in which they were developing an overarching metaplot where almost all species in the galaxy where linked as experiments of the Old Ones, developed to fight against the Necron menace.

I would really like to have xenobiology reprinted to go with my Infantryman's uplifting primer and Hive of the Dead.  I am still kicking myself for not getting it when I had the chance. I had tried out other xeno armies in 4th but didnt like them (eldar when they still had their 3rd edition codex, necrons with their 3rd edition codex) but with how poorly they played it left a bad taste in my mouth and didnt want to get the book. Really wish I had. But the Infantrymen's Uplifting Primer and Hive of the Dead are pretty awesome.
