If I weren't experimenting with the Blight Hauler list I'm using, I'd definitely use them...

For one thing it can decrease your drops. I'm using a lot of the Elite characters and compressing 2 squads of PMs, plus 3 elite characters, plus an HQ or two.... well that decreases my drop from 6 down to 2. Plus all the other stuff.

I find when I do use a Rhino, I will even get out of it in T1 to get the 'bonus' move of 3+5+advance = X

Finally I find merit in Rhino 'walling' my opponents. I can conceal a good portion of a squad from direct small arms fire, or simply steer my opponent away, or absorb the initial contact with the Rhino.

If only DG Possessed got DR, but yeah with 2 wounds 5++ and a Rhino, they do quite a lot of damage in CC against infantry up to MEQ.

I used them exclusively with my Renegades. In 7 th I used them all the time with my KDK, but even in Red Corsairs lists I just didn’t get mileage out of them. I think I’d prefer a loaded squad of Plague marines over them in a Rhino.

Just to note on disembark, it doesn't specify the model has to be wholly within 3" so you get an extra inch or so if you use the very back of the base.

Possessed arent very good, but I'm interested to see how the demon codex mixes it up. The nurgle locus can turn them into slayers, as well as benefiting from all the death guard and nurgle daemon psychic powers and strats. Even the trees boost them into 1+ save guys. Lots of interesting things.

In a recent game against nids, I disembarked 10 Possessed in front of 20 Termagants. Then I beefed them up +1 S/T, charged the Rhino then Possessed. With a DP close and rolling 3 attacks for them I cleared most of them.

As he removed his models he freed up my Rhino and the next turn I charged Old OneEye and a Tyrannofex. Then the DP into the Tyrannofex. I lost the Rhino in combat but blew it up with the stratagem finishing off the Tfex. I would say the Rhino was well worth it and much better then any drop pod could have been.

See the fact you rolled 3 attacks, and beefed them up with psychics is what really made all of that work.

The funny thing is I used them a lot with Renegades and the game that finally made me pull them was against Death Guard. I had 3 fight phases of rolling '1' attack each. (I despise randomness for elite units like that.)

By the end of 3 fight phases I had no one left. I was held up all that time by a mere DG champion with a fist. Yes, it could be chalked up as bad luck, but it just happened too often for my liking.

The Deathguard feel so elite heavy already.. I have so much trouble finding points for stuff like Termies, etc. I don't know how you do it. :)
