I'm presuming you dug around the BA forum?  Those dudes really love their Chapter and are sure to provide some further insight.

Personally, why not go with a DIY, then make a list that could fit both RG and BA?  This way, you could play whatever Codex (between the two) you want ^_^

Back in 5th edition, I tried this with the Space Wolves and it was "fun".  But the marriage between Codex and SW is ... not easy

Indeed I have and they are an enthusiastic bunch. Much of how they play seems dependent on using characters to work, and that doesn't seem to mesh with a Primaris army very well imo. I like having one army build and playing it to a razors edge. I'll still buy the book. Our local meta apparently has a couple played so you know ... research :)

Space Wolves was my first army and it would hurt this old man's bones to see a successor Chapter to Russ's wolves. It's going to happen (Wolfspear) I'm sure, but I can't ever seeing be part of it through DIY;)

.... and I'm totally sold on building a shadow war army (huzzah) :D

As they should.  My former kin finally have a properly dangerous dex again :tu:

But still, black is sexy.

Blood Angels don't need to play around characters.

Our chapter tactic actually works well with all primaris as they come standard with more attacks.

Now that we have power swords on intercessor sergeants it's just improved things further.

I play primaris blood angels exclusively these days and usually run a primaris captain, primaris lieutenant and primaris ancient (with relic banner)

Depending on lists there may be a second lieutenant and/Or librarian too.

The main issue with all marines currently is that the majority of stratagems aren't much use for primaris.

And this ...

... is why I'm going to have to buy the Codex (god knows the name and paint scheme definitely could easily be taken as a BA successor and it sounds like we use similar build concepts :))
