Looking through my bits box, I realise I have a huge amount of breacher shields from the IF Phalanx Warders kits. I'm tempted to dig out some of the MkIV sprues from B@C that I have stored for a rainy day and make up some regular Breacher squads, but I don't know whether they'll be a good fit.

Has anyone tried to do this in the past? I'd love to recreate the pose of the traditional Breacher squad (i.e. bolt gun nozzle held through the gap in the shield), but at the worst I'll take a more relaxed pose if I have to.

Hm. I know Space Marine arm bits so, the ones on the upper and lower left could easily have the right aiming Bolter arm replace their current one to line up with the shield. The one in the upper right could have the same aiming arm but the weapon wouldn't line up with the shield, so consider raising the angle of the shield and using running legs to make it look like the Bolter is down because he is advancing with the squad. The one in the middle and the one in the lower right would be best used for a holstered bolter and pointing at the enemy, throwing a grenade, or brandishing a close combat weapon type pose.

A second option is forgoing the provided shield arms in the kit and simply kitbashing/converting your own.

Having looked at the unassembled components, it would be very straight forward to cut the shield arms below the elbows and shoulders and rotate them or swap them onto another upper arm to achieve the classic breacher pose.
