Mossback
I was playing a game today, and the question came up about the BSS Sister Superior taking a bolt pistol along with a ranged weapon and a melee weapon. I am using BattleScribe, and gave the Superior a Combi-Flamer and Power Sword. Does she also have access to the regular Bolt Pistol each sister has as well? BattleScribe showed her having a legit list with no flags raised. The FAQ for the Imperium 2 Index says she can take a weapon from the Melee weapons list. The other player challenged me when I wanted to fire her Bolt pistol while in melee, and since I wasn't completely certain she had access to one, I didn't fire the Bolt Pistol. Am I correct that she would have the Combi-Flamer, Power Sword, Bolt Pistol, Frag and Krak Grenades? Thanks for any input or advice. Beams
She does. A lot of our models were rendered illegal by the index. The superior is allowed one bolt pistol and one bolter. The FAQ gave her an extra melee weapon. She can swap the pistol/Bolter for special guns/pistols. Mossback
Cool, thanks Beams! I try to run my Sisters with all legal shenanigans to as to not become an army no one wants to play. Rod.H
The intern that cut 'n pasted the Index & the intern meant to check it obviously had no access to the miniatures nor wandered down to the collection hall and see all the superiors with pistol, boltgun & sword. If they had actually seen one it must've been the one without a sword. Mossback
I was really doubting myself and BattleScribe about the weapons loadout. The other player was quite indignant when I wanted to fire my Bolt Pistol, and said, "Even Space Marines can't have a melee weapon and a pistol and a rifle." I should have picked up the Sister Superior, pointed to the weapons as cast on the model, and said, "Huh...I guess Sisters are better than Space Marines." It was overall an unsatisfying game against him, even though I won. Thanks again for the input; it is much appreciated! Atrus
Sooo...is there any benefit to giving a superior 2 chainswords then? Beams
They're get +2 attacks, I think Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343321-legal-weapon-combination-for-sister-superior-question/#findComment-4985459 Share on other sites
Lord Grimskull
They're get +2 attacks, I think -this, but I think you need to have a base of 2 attacks at least to utilize it. (One for each chainsword) (Don't have the book in front of me to check superior's attack characteristic) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343321-legal-weapon-combination-for-sister-superior-question/#findComment-4986516 Share on other sites

Unless it's a Celestian, and then it's 3, and with a priest she can rock 6. Which is awesome, but also, she's better off with a power weapon and 4 attacks, sadly. Servant of Dante
No you don’t, it’s not when you attack with the weapon, it’s “each time the bearer fights” so you get the +2 A regardless, or if you have a power sword and a chainsword you get the chainsword attack even if you make all your base attacks with the power sword Also, you either fire all your pistol weapons or all your non pistol weapons as far as I know, so wth a combi and anbolt pistol you have to pick one or the other each turn. (This is under the pistol weapon type description in the main rules) Edited January 19, 2018 by Servant of Dante Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343321-legal-weapon-combination-for-sister-superior-question/#findComment-4987694 Share on other sites
Lord Grimskull
Okay, thanks for the clarification Dante. I miss-remembered the wording on chainsword x_X Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/343321-legal-weapon-combination-for-sister-superior-question/#findComment-4987713 Share on other sites
Mossback
I believe you are correct, Dante. In the shooting phase, it is either pistols or ranged weapons. If ranged weapons, you could shoot a combi weapon, like a combi meltagun, but would incur a -1 to hit. If you shoot only the bolted or meltagun part, there is no minus to hit. One sister in a squad could also toss a frag or krak grenade instead of shooting a pistol or rifle.
