Advice, ideas, and wisdom needed regarding HB Chimeras

Hi,

 

I would like plead for some help, ideas or advice, or simply an inspiration regarding following issue.

 

Unfortunately I couldn't find Google very helpful.

 

I'm building Mechanized 113th Cadian Mechanized list, so I purchased loads of Chimeras. Some are new, but most of them are second hand, and already pre-built.

 

These pre-built already have Multi-lasers equipped, however my list in order to be WYSIWYG, has to be with HB.

 

So basically I can:

 

- Cut of ML, but big question is should I go for cutting from barrel or entire plate together with barrel

- "Normal" turret HB comes with sort of a aiming device that is almost identical to the one Hunter Killer on Rhinos have, so any ideas if there are other bits out there

- Leave everything and plead TO to relax WYSIWYG rule on HB :)

- If anyone happend to have similar issue and how did he solve it

If you're playing with friends, and as long as it's clear what's what (so all Chimera multilasers = HBs for example, with no mixing), then I would just leave the multilasers.

 

If you're playing in a tournament, you're best off asking the TO rather than us. However, assuming that you will need to change them to HBs, then I would suggest:

 

- Cut the multilaser as the "plate" (the plate is actually called a "mantle"), and keep the multilaser.

 

- Then cut a suitable HB down to fit onto the mantle.

 

- Put a magnet in the HB, the multilaser, and the mantle.

 

- Don't worry about the targeting lens.

 

Now you can swap to whatever weapon you like in future (and even do the same with heavy flamers if you like). :)

Those suckers can be tough to cut off. Id suggest a saw vs trying to use a hobby knife.

I know not quite what you are asking for, but have you considered the chimeras with two heavy bolters in the turret? Just a thought before you build them all.

Yes, they are FW although I couldn't find them in FW offer anymore

 

Well basically my question comes down to: have you bought assembled ML Chimera on ebay, but you decided to change it to HB Chimera, and how did it go :)
